The Horror of Godzilla is an upcoming four-issue comic miniseries by IDW Publishing.[1][2] Part of a shared universe of Godzilla comics dubbed the Kai-Sei Era, it is written by Ethan Parker and Griffin Sheridan, with illustrations by Tristan Jones. The series will recount the events of Godzilla's first attack on Japan in 1954 and its mutative effects on the people caught in the onslaught, marking the start of humanity's conflict with the kaiju.[3] The first issue is scheduled to be published on July 29, 2026.[4]
IDW Publishing first announced the series exclusively to Bloody Disgusting on February 16, 2026. Series editor Jake Williams commented, "Through the power of Tristan Jones' visceral art style, this is the first Godzilla comic we've released that goes 100% in on horror. It very well might become the best Godzilla comic ever made. It's certainly the scariest."
