"Chapter Two: Hunters & Hunted" is the second issue of IDW Publishing's The Rocketeer: The Island. It was published on April 22, 2026.[1]

Description

In 1937, Amelia Earhart went missing on her flight around the world. One year later, the Rocketeer is on a mission to find and rescue her!

After a rocky voyage, the Rocketeer and his crew dock on a mysterious island in the area where Amelia was last heard from. Immediately, they discover strange creatures that could just be real-life dinosaurs! Well, facing giant carnivorous monsters has to be better than staying on the ship with Betty and her cheesecake photographer, Marco…right?

John Layman
(Chew, Spawn: The Scorched) and Jacob Edgar (Plastic Man: No More, The Ones) continue their thrilling new series based on a story by Dave Stevens![1]

Trivia

  • Though Betty is shown in a bikini on the cover, she actually wears an improvised coconut bra and leaf skirt in the issue, as Marco neglected to pack her swimwear.
  • Goose Gander makes reference to the events of The Rocketeer: Cargo of Doom (2013), in which the Rocketeer battled dinosaurs from Skull Island in New York City, establishing continuity between the two series.
  • Professor Payne recognizes the Skull Mountain Island language as "a variation of Pukupakhan, which used to be spoken on the Cooke Islands," seemingly misspellings of Pukapukan and Cook Islands.
