The Xiliens, looking for a countermeasure against Godzilla, have managed to find the resting place of another monster: the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah. Using their advanced technology, they awaken the great beast and set it on a worldwide rampage that eventually gets the attention of the King of the Monsters. Godzilla and King Ghidorah clash, as monsters do, and the results of that fight may not be good for anyone-human or Xilien![1]

Plot
Cedric uploads a new video to his MeToob channel concerning the strange dreams that seem to be shared by everyone he knows. While the events within each person's dreams are different, all incorporate the name "Ghidorah," which he thinks would be a good band name. At the Linival excavation site, Agent Dragon relays the contents of the vlog to Commander Z, who quips that at least humanity will know what name to scream in terror. The Xiliens successfully awaken Ghidorah, a control device affixed to each of his heads. Two weeks later, Ghidorah has embarked on a worldwide rampage, destroying cities seemingly at random before moving on. Cedric posts a new video explaining humanity's lack of options: Ghidorah can outpace fighter jets and never stays in one place long enough for Godzilla to swim to him, Mothra is still recuperating, and Cedric still doesn't trust the guardian monster connected to Karen's family.
At school, Cedric is confident that Godzilla will meet Ghidorah in combat if he attacks Japan, but Karen points out that Godzilla's last attack was a response to Linival's use of the synthetic Element 131. Since Ghidorah's weapon of choice is all-natural lightning, he may not react to it. She is unsure how to summon her own monster, and while Cedric expresses doubt that she's even connected to one, he can't explain why the Shobijin summoned her. As she explains the level of concentration she believes is needed to commune with a kaiju, Ghidorah suddenly flies overhead. Godzilla surfaces in Sagami Bay, close enough for Ghidorah to spot him and issue a challenge. The space monster strikes first with his lightning. Godzilla responds with atomic breath, knocking Ghidorah into the water. Ghidorah headbutts Godzilla, then gets blasted out of the water by another atomic blast. A tail whip from Godzilla destroys the control device on his right head. Ghidorah bites Godzilla as they grapple, causing the latter to respond with another blast of atomic breath which incinerates the central head's control device. With both monsters hurting, Ghidorah flies away and Godzilla sinks into the bay. Watching Cedric's vlog recapping the situation, Dragon is exuberant, noting that the boy is unsure if Godzilla will recover before Ghidorah. Commander Z, however, explains that their situation has become truly dire: Ghidorah is no longer under their control.

Trivia
- Dan Schoening's cover A art for this issue, depicting King Ghidorah constricting one of his necks around Godzilla's body while locked in battle with him, resembles a poster for the film Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
- In this issue, Cedric says that as far as he knows, Godzilla can't fly, likely jokingly referencing when he used his atomic breath to fly in Godzilla vs. Hedorah.
