Kong of Skull Island #3 is a comic book by BOOM! Studios. It was released in September 2016.

Plot

In the turmoil of the eruption of the Great Mouth, the Atu Kong escape their enclosure and begin to run wild, turning on the humans who had held them in fear for so long. Despite the danger, the humans flee inland because the Tagu and Atu leaders did not tell them about the boats. K'reti and Usana then enlist Ewata to get her Tagu Kong to get the Atu Kong under control. She assigns Tuno and Takani to help evacuate people, while Valla does most of the fighting. K'reti and Usana then direct the islanders to the boats while Ewata and other Kong trainers try to get the final rampaging Atu Kong under control, but in the struggle she accidentally stabs through its eye and kills it. At the docks, it is discovered that one of the ships is missing. Luckily it was the ship that had just returned, so all of the supplies and provisions were still available. Unfortunately, the ships disappearance means that not every islander can leave at once, so the Tagu King opts to stay on the island with the sick and wounded to await a return vessel when a new home is found. V'Drell the Atu Shaman is asked to stay to help with the wounded. It is then decided to sail after the first ship to prevent them from encountering Skull Island, and K'reti makes it clear to Usana that he considers Ewata his wife and their marriage to be a peace treaty. Back on the island, it is revealed to the Tagu King that V'Drell had sneaked back to the ship under the guise of trying to unpack his instruments before departure. The Shaman's anointed followers then sacrificed the Tagu King to the gods to bring prosperity to the new world. Usana then calls K'reti down to their cabin, where V'Drell uses his ceremonial glove to tear K'reti's organs out of his stomach, killing him for the same purpose that V'Drell's followers killed his father, and to give Usana sole rule over the Taguatu people. As the ships approached Skull Island, Ewata saw that the missing ship had crashed on the rocks, and its passengers lay in pieces on the beaches as giant Pteranodons swooped down for attack. As their ship approached the shore, Ewata, the passengers, and the Kong prepared to siege the island.
