Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II is a five-issue Godzilla and Power Rangers crossover comic miniseries published by BOOM! Studios and IDW Publishing. A sequel to 2022's Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the series sees the return of author Cullen Bunn and colorist Andrew Dalhouse, with the addition of illustrator Baldemar Rivas who takes over art duties from Freddie E. Williams II.[1] In the comic, the evil Rita Repulsa returns with new allies in her latest bid for universal conquest, and it is once again up to the Power Rangers to stop her. However, the teenagers with attitude are not alone either, finding allies in Godzilla and more giant monsters as they descend deeper into the multiverse. The series ran from April 3 to September 11, 2024.

Description

This one has it all: SpaceGodzilla! Clawhammer! Tentacreep! But what exactly does Rita intend to do with their collective might, and how have her mysterious new allies, Astronema and the Alliance of Evil, given her added reach across worlds? Trivia

  • Artist Freddie E. Williams II, who illustrated the previous series, returned to provide various covers, provide pencil studies of several characters, and design the original Kaiju Power Rangers, Kaiju Zords, and Kaiju Psycho Rangers for this series.[2]
  • Although SpaceGodzilla is namedropped in the series synopsis, suggesting a notable role, the monster only appears in two panels across the entire series: in a flashback in the second issue and as an energy projection in the fifth issue. However, one of the Psycho Rangers takes on his powers to become "Psycho Ranger SpaceGodzilla."
  • While the epilogue of the previous series featured multiple multiversal variants of Godzilla, this series only features a single Godzilla. The second issue teases the existence of another in one of the alternate universes visited by the Power Rangers, but this second Godzilla does not physically appear.
