Plot
After Godzilla forced King Ghidorah to retreat in their previous battle, Cedric basks in the King of the Monsters' victory, which he is all too happy to take credit for at school. Suddenly, one of Ghidorah's heads bursts into his classroom and eats him... and then he wakes up. Emily and Anderson confirm with him that they had the same dream; Ghidorah is far from beaten.
At school the next day, the Shobijin contact the trio and Karen from Infant Island while they are taking a pop quiz. They explain that Ghidorah emerged from the fight with greater clarity of mind, and unlike Godzilla, cannot be persuaded to halt his rampage. With Ghidorah healing from his injuries faster than Godzilla, and Mothra still out of commission, they turn to Karen for help summoning the guardian monster of Okinawa. Karen is pessimistic, explaining that her family failed to call him forth during Godzilla's attack last year, but the Shobijin believe her presence in Cedric's class has significance. With a final warning that Ghidorah will return later in the day, they send them off. Unfortunately, the quiz has already concluded, and their teacher, Ms. Benton, is less than pleased with their lack of answers.
In the mountains, Ghidorah awakens, eyes crackling with electricity. Commander Z learns from his underlings that the control devices damaged during Ghidorah's fight with Godzilla cannot be safely repaired. In an attempt to salvage the mission and ensure that at least part of Earth remains unspoiled, he requests mechanoids from Planet X. At school, Cedric attempts to explain to his teacher Ms. Benton why he and the others have been zoning out in class, having nightmares, and telling incredible tales online with the unvarnished truth, including the Shobijin's warning about Ghidorah's impending return. She is skeptical until she receives an alert on her phone that King Ghidorah is attacking Tokyo. She urges the kids to evacuate with her, but Cedric, Emily, and Anderson join hands to call on Godzilla, who begins to stir. Another alert on her phone confirms this as well. At the same time, Karen prays to her guardian, King Caesar, who awakens and begins to swim towards Ghidorah to assist Godzilla.

Trivia
- Maguma appears on a poster hanging on the wall in Cedric's bedroom in this issue, marking the kaiju's first appearance of any kind in an IDW Publishing comic. Also in Cedric's room is a plush toy of Hedorah and another poster which seems to depict Daigoro from the Toho/Tsuburaya Productions film Daigoro vs. Goliath.
