Romeo and Juliet was previously referenced in the film Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) by the character Asuka Okouchi, who tells Kazuto Kirishima, "You may think you're Romeo, but I have no intention of playing Juliet."
This is the first original Godzilla comic to directly model Godzilla's appearance on his 1954 design.
