Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla (2025–2026)
| ||||||||||||||||
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla, self-abbreviated as TMNT x Godzilla,[a] is a comic book miniseries from IDW Publishing. A crossover between the Godzilla and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) franchises, it imagines a world in which TMNT's antagonist faction the Foot Clan was originally created to protect Japan against Godzilla and other kaiju. However, when the kaiju reappear in the modern day, the Foot Clan's devious leader Shredder plots to use the beasts' genetic information to bolster his forces, and may have been responsible for their resurgence all along. The comic is written by Tim Seeley and illustrated by Fero Pe. It ran from November 12, 2025, to April 1, 2026.

Development
The series was announced on July 24, 2025, during IDW Publishing's "Godzilla: Enter the Kai-Sei Era"[1] panel at San Diego Comic-Con International.[2] The Playmates crossover toy line was announced on the same day, featuring mashups of characters from both franchises. Dan Schoening, the artist of IDW's Godzilla: Monsters & Protectors and its sequels, helped design the four main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hybrid characters for the Playmates toy line[3][4] while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla artist Fero Pe designed the remaining mashups.[5]

Trivia
- Teenange Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla is the first crossover between Godzilla and another franchise IDW Publishing has the publishing rights to, rather than a partnership with another publisher.
- On the same day the comic book was announced, Playmates revealed a crossover figure line at San Diego Comic Con featuring hybrid figures that combine elements of Godzilla kaiju and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; while the toys' relation to the comic series was unclear at the time, it was later revealed through solicitations that these hybrid characters would indeed appear within the comics themselves.
- Artist Fero Pe shared early concept art of an unused Krang design with a silver-clad android body, detailing that it was ultimately changed to better resemble the character's original design from the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.[6]
- Early concept art of the Shredder x Mechagodzilla hybrid featured elements from the Heisei Mechagodzilla while the final design instead takes cues from the Showa Mechagodzilla.
- Though a Splinter x King Caesar mashup is featured in both the Playmates toy line and the Monogram International bag clip wave, the fusion character does not appear within the comic, with King Caesar not appearing in any capacity.
- The final four issues of this series were all published on the same dates as issues of IDW's 2025 ongoing series Godzilla.
