Dongolar (ドンゴラー,   Dongorā) is a kaiju created by Toho that first appeared in episode 14 of the 1972 tokusatsu kaiju series, Go! Godman titled Godman vs. Dongolar.

Design

Dongolar is a squat humanoid monster with short, thick limbs and has a faint resemblance to a human infant. He has a huge head with no visible mouth that can be divided into three notable sections, including a large forehead that seamlessly melds with his cranium and a pair of large, buttock-like cheeks. His eyes are almond-shaped, have large, blue, cat-like pupils, and are sunken into a crevice between the aforementioned head sections. The melding of these sections combined with the sunken eye sockets gives his head an almost helmet-like appearance. Dongolar has no neck. Hanging directly below his forehead and between his eyes is a pointed nose that resembles an owl's beak or the root of a carrot. Dongolar has flattened ears with small pointed tips on the sides of his head. He also has mitten-like hands with four nubby, underdeveloped looking fingers. He has a pair of tendril-like structures that hang from his shoulders. His back has several prominent skin tag-like structures which somewhat resemble his frontal tendrils and a large, thin, vertical slit running down it. The uppermost sections of his body (as well as his hands and feet) are smooth and light brown or yellow while the lowermost sections (as well as his forearm) are dark green and have a lumpy seaweed or cabbage-like texture. Dongolar's feet resemble those of a bear and have four clawed digits each.

History

Go! Godman

Dongolar was the sixteenth monster to battle Godman. He lumbered towards a group of kids until they called Godman to fight for them. Dongolar eventually knocked off one of Godman's leg bracelets, but the hero recovered it and continued the battle. Standing on the edge of a hill, Dongolar dodged Godman's God-Sparks, only to be pushed into the water below and sink to his doom.
