"Chibi Godzilla Has The May Blues?" (ちびゴジラは五月病?, Chibi Gojira wa Gogatsubyō?) is the 21st episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the eighth episode of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai and Yuki Hirokawa, it aired on Japanese television on May 22, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that May 29.
Plot
Chibi Godzilla announces that he has transformed into his second form again to Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Ghidorah. Chibi Mechagodzilla asks if he had another bad night, though Chibi Godzilla replies that his transformation is instead because of the "May Blues." This answer baffles Chibi Mechagodzilla as the May Blues is when you feel tired after the start of a new fiscal year and therefore should not change Chibi Godzilla's entire appearance, though Chibi Godzilla answers that it must be the May Blues because it is May, irritating the mecha. Chibi Ghidorah says that he knows that Chibi Godzilla just slept wrong again. Chibi Godzilla tells him that that can't be the reason, because when that happens, he can squirt red liquid and therefore it must be the May Blues - as he says this, he squirts red liquid from his gills. This leaves Chibi Godzilla confused as to what the May Blues actually are. Before Chibi Mechagodzilla can explain, Chibi Rodan suddenly appears, unmotivated and flying slowly, and Chibi Mechagodzilla uses him as an example. Chibi Godzilla answers that that is simply being tired after April, annoying Chibi Mechagodzilla, and Chibi Godzilla asks Chibi Rodan if he has the May Blues though the pterosaur does not reply, concerning the others. Chibi Godzilla finally agrees with Chibi Mechagodzilla and begins to energetically tell hm about his dwindling energy, confusing Chibi Mechagodzilla due to his apparent abundance of energy. Chibi Godzilla wiggles to prove it, further confusing Chibi Mechagodzilla.
Chibi Rodan tells the group about his lack of motivation to do anything, including go to the bathroom, concerning Chibi Mechagodzilla. In response, Chibi Godzilla then tells the group about how he only has four meals a day as a result of the May Blues, with Chibi Mechagodzilla telling him that four meals a day is more than enough. Chibi Rodan then tells the group that he can't be bothered to use a plate for his soy sauce so ends up just using the lid instead. Chibi Mechagodzilla refers to this as a relatable level of laziness. Chibi Godzilla tells the group that he simply doesn't use soy sauce, which Chibi Mechagodzilla angrily labels as simply a personal preference. Chibi Mechagodzilla begins to have doubts about whether Chibi Rodan actually has the May Blues, with Chibi Ghidorah's middle head wondering if this means no one has the May Blues though the left head points out that their right head has been behaving strangely recently. Chibi Godzilla announces the left head as another contender for the May Blues Championship. Chibi Mechagodzilla ignores him and questions the right head, who answers that he hasn't eaten at all this month, though as long as the other two heads eat, Chibi Ghidorah will be fine. Chibi Mechagodzilla decides that this must be a sign of the May Blues, while Chibi Ghidorah's middle head points out that red stuff is coming out of the right head's mouth. Chibi Mechagodzilla tells him to go to the hospital.
