"Chibi Hedorah is Squeaky Clean" (きれいなちびヘドラ Kirei na Chibi Hedora, lit. "Clean Chibi Hedorah") is the 47th episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the 34th of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai and Yuki Hirokawa, it aired on Japanese television on November 20, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that December 4.
Plot
Chibi Mechagodzilla shows off his recently-finished water filtration machine to Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mothra, and the Shobijin, explaining that it can make dirty water drinkable without any problems, though Chibi Godzilla reveals that he drinks dirty water anyways. Chibi Mothra tells Chibi Mechagodzilla it's still useful anyways, and he says he stayed up all night making it. Chibi Hedorah appears and berates Chibi Mechagodzilla for staying inside and pulling an all-nighter instead of playing outside, but Chibi Godzilla points out they're all outside right now. Chibi Hedorah rants about how he used to be outside the entire day when he was young before getting mad when the Shobijin repeatedly call him a buzzkill, though they deflect blame by claiming they are just repeating Chibi Mothra's thoughts. The Shobijin tell Chibi Hedorah that his insides are murky, which is why he's so negative, giving Chibi Godzilla the idea to filter him. Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Hedorah both object, but Chibi Godzilla filters him anyways.
Chibi Hedorah emerges from the filtration machine looking entirely different, his body smooth, shiny, light blue, and surrounded by sparkles. When he speaks, the rest of the chibi monsters are surprised to find even his voice is softer. The Shobijin remark that Chibi Hedorah might not be a buzzkill geezer anymore, but he tells them such language only breeds hate and that they should all communicate better, prompting them to apologize. Chibi Godzilla exclaims he was wrong about Chibi Hedorah, but backs down once Chibi Hedorah questions if he thought badly of him before he was clean. When Chibi Godzilla says he's cooler now, Chibi Hedorah asks if Chibi Godzilla thought he was less cool before. Chibi Mechagodzilla exclaims that he's still just as annoying as before, to which the Shobijin agree while adding that he's still a buzzkill too. Chibi Hedorah politely asks them to follow the "code of conduct" to display proper behavior, confusing the others. Chibi Hedorah demonstrates the "politically correct version", detailing how today's events should have gone:
Chibi Mechagodzilla excitedly tells Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mothra, and the Shobijin he finished his water filtration device, but states that all water is perfectly fine as it is without being filtered. The Shobijin add that everyone is unique, and Chibi Mechagodzilla says that everyone can drink dirty water now. Chibi Godzilla repeats that he can drink dirty water, but a disclaimer appears warning children against trying it at home. Instead of being confused, Chibi Mechagodzilla praises Chibi Godzilla's ability to drink wastewater. Chibi Mothra overly compliments Chibi Mechagodzilla's skills, and Chibi Mechagodzilla stares at the camera and says everyone is unique and different in their own way before asking his friends to come and play outside with him. Another disclaimer appears, warning that excessive exercise poses a health risk.
Back in reality, Chibi Hedorah reiterates that this is how kids' shows should be, but Chibi Mechagodzilla claims that it is boring while Chibi Godzilla begs for Chibi Hedorah to return to normal.
