"The Monster Island Godzillars" (怪獣島ゴジラーズ,   Kaijū-tō Gojirāzu) is the 17th episode of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again and the fourth episode of its second season. Written by Taketo Shinkai, it aired on Japanese television on April 24, 2024. An English-subtitled version followed on the GODZILLA OFFICIAL by TOHO YouTube channel that May 1.

Plot

Chibi Mechagodzilla invites some of the other residents of Monster Island to play baseball but is confused by their unusual outfits. Chibi Godzilla, who is wearing Groucho glasses, explains that they have never heard of baseball. Chibi Mechagodzilla is understanding but still confused by their costumes - Chibi Ghidorah, wearing a melon costume, explains that they didn't know what to do and got desperate. Chibi Mothra, holding a stuffed animal, tells Chibi Mechagodzilla that she knows some things, those being that you throw a stuffed animal and yell "I'm on fire!" after hitting a home run. The Shobijin ask if baseball is a sport which Chibi Mechagodzilla confirms, surprising Chibi Godzilla as he did not know either. The Shobijin comment that they do not wish to get sunburnt and so will watch from afar. Chibi Mechagodzilla tells the group that baseball is a fun sport which both adults and kids enjoy in the human world. Excited, Chibi Godzilla begins the game, though he, Chibi Ghidorah, and Chibi Mothra behave randomly, making Chibi Mechagodzilla realize that he should explain the rules.

Chibi Mechagodzilla explains the rules to the group (who are no longer wearing their costumes) with great difficulty. Chibi Ghidorah points out that they don't have the requisite nine players to form a team. Chibi Godzilla and one of the Shobijin mock the appearance of a catcher's glove. Chibi Godzilla compares bases to a cushions, while Chibi Ghidorah demands to know why one is a different shape. Chibi Godzilla and one of the Shobijin comment that swinging a bat is dangerous. At this, Chibi Mechagodzilla snaps at their commentary, raving that they're playing a sport, not planning a murder. Chibi Mothra comments that the end of the bat looks like a triangle, annoying Chibi Mechagodzilla once again. Chibi Mechagodzilla decides that it would be best if the group learned as they played. He asks if Chibi Mothra is prepared to hit the ball with the bat. Gripping the middle of the bat, she is unsure if she is holding it right, with Chibi Mechagodzilla confirming that she is not. Chibi Ghidorah, wearing the glove over his left head, asks if he is wearing it correctly, with Chibi Mechagodzilla admitting that it works. Chibi Godzilla, taking the bat, shouts that he is ready, with Chibi Mechagodzilla complimenting his form. Chibi Mechagodzilla delivers a pitch to Chibi Godzilla, who hits a home run, impressing Chibi Mechagodzilla. Chibi Mothra passes him the stuffed animal she was holding and tells him to throw it, though Chibi Mechagodzilla points out that that isn't part of the sport.
