Japanese "overseas version" (海外版) releases

Godzilla, King of the Monsters!

An HD transfer of the last known 35mm release print of the cropped 2.35:1 theatrical version aired on the Nihon Eiga Senmon Channel on November 14, 2014. All VHS, LD and DVD versions use the video master first released by Vestron Video in the U.S. in 1983. VHS versions include a video generated analogue of the theatrical end credits. DVDs have softsubs. Amazon Prime Video version uses the HD master created for the 2011 Criterion BD. Toho 4K Blu-Ray and UHD BD include the scan of the cropped theatrical version, but, unfortunately, incorrectly decimate the frame rate back to 23.976p from 29.970i on for the full duration of several reels, creating an awful, choppy image.

Godzilla vs. Mothra (Godzilla vs. The Thing)

Both releases use UPA's hideous '80s video master with the video generated Godzilla vs. Mothra title. '08 DVD is a direct port of the '93 LD with hardsubs.

Frankenstein Conquers the World

Uses the atrocious 16:9 MonstersHD Frankenstein'd reconstruction of the U.S. version. Softsubs.

The War of the Gargantuas

VHS releases use UPA's '80s video master. DVD uses the cropped 16:9 MonstersHD master. Softsubs.

Godzilla 1985

Both releases use New World Video's disgusting video master, though with Godzilla's roar still intact over the New World logo.

Godzilla 2000

DVD uses Sony's 2014 HD master. Softsubs.
