Captain Douglas Gordon is the American captain of the Gotengo. He is portrayed by MMA fighter, Don Frye. His only appearance was in the 2004 Godzilla film, Godzilla: Final Wars.
History
Millennium Series
Godzilla: Final Wars
Many years before the events of Final Wars, Gordon was part of the crew of the first Gotengo when the vessel battled Godzilla in Antarctica. In fact, he was the one that fired the winning shot that buried Godzilla in an avalanche. He is also part of the Earth Defense Force.
In Godzilla: Final Wars, he was the captain of the Gotengo. He and his crew fought off Manda in the beginning of the movie. Among the members of the crew, were Shinichi Ozaki, and Katsunori Kazama. Gordon was definitely an important contributor to the annihilation of the Xiliens, also. The plan to save Earth was developed by him, and he lead his Gotengo team to Area G, where they purposely woke up Godzilla, hoping he would be able to help them defeat the Xiliens, thus saving Earth.
