so how do you make a snippet of text appear on a picture when the mouse is hovered over?
also i will ask a few questions here i still have a lot to know about wikizilla, so i will ask questions on this talk instead of creating new posts.

Could you show me an example? In any case, we try to avoid mouseover text on pages these days, since mobile users can't view it.

Oh, that text is just whatever's written in the caption field.
Are you using the VisualEditor? Maybe it's not visible there. This is what it looks like in the source editor: https://wikizilla.org/w/images/d/db/Caption.png
Oooh I've done that before on demeking but I was confused because I didnt see a caption
are the war of the worlds tripods a giant monster? something ive always debated about, also if the film (the 2005 one) is a giant monster movie...
The 2005 War of the Worlds definitely has the sensibilities of a giant monster movie. But there's nothing organic about them as far as I know.
i would say it's in the middle ground of a giant monster film. There's huge tripods operated by martians, but nothing similar to godzilla, gamera, king kong etc.. But they're huge, and they're a monster (well, theyre machines but Mechagodzilla's first two incarnations were machines). If you call the original King Kong, or really any up to the 2005 one, a giant monster movie this is so.
And why do I never get the right amount of messages? I was offline, (this is one of the smaller examples, once I had 17 messages and only 2 showed) and I got 2 messages today while I was offline: one from Godzilla the brave and one from you. I only got notified of Godzilla the brave's post.
Notifications can be glitchy; I usually rely more on Recent Changes to track messages.
Was the beast from 20,000 fathoms the first giant monster film apart from that buddha statue film in like 1934? Also, I wouldnt say king Kong is a giant monster film, so forget that.
Also on preferences there is a few phrases that I need defining. Those are:
"Level Up" I think I know what that means already
"User Rights Change" Could mean level up. Now I have no idea
"Awards" What kind of awards?
"Edit Milestone" Ok, I know what this is but how many milestones is there?
I have to imagine your Monster Arena one wears the crown.
I don't think we ever actually implemented most of those features, although "user rights change" just refers to someone being promoted to site staff (or demoted from site staff).
"Level up" doesn't mean anything in the context of this site; whatever that MediaWiki feature is, we didn't implement it.
Okay. And edit milestones are a thing, so do they go to, idk, a million or a billion? Or they capped at like 1,000. Also how do you look at the amount of edits you've done (I have done it before so its possible)
Evidently I exceeded the milestones the site tracks before I started looking at my notifications much. (You can view the count under Preferences -> User Profile.)
Must be a visual bug. The colon on the comment above the comment above this is missing
Hey, ohhhhh, so... go to https://wikizilla.org/w/images/7/74/Screenshot_20230318-203542_Chrome.jpg
I says "ID 20922". So does this mean I am the 20922th user on here, or the mediawiki, or what? What do so many of these things mean? I need to look into it all.
That seems high, but we have dealt with a lot of spambots in the past.
I'll take more pictures of it because I looked through a lot and my God i dont understand anything
You really don't have to; none of it is very consequential. Focus on editing.
Yeah, I know, I'll still do some because I want to know what it is. Just not now. Tomorrow is gonna be like today but on a larger scale. I'm gonna be super active since I've got stuff in mind (not just discussing monsters' abilities) so I'll do it tomorrow.
Why do we have a page for Neronga, but none of the other Ultraman monsters seem to be here? No Shin Ultraman monsters either.
His page got finished first. The rest are being worked on in one big sandbox.
