Please note that we could only control so much about how the site would look. The skin that the site was previously using is long discontinued and needed to be phased out. We did what we could to create a replacement that would feel like the old one while also having new options and features.

I'd recommend everyone try tailoring their experience using the appearance settings. By default there should be TOOLS and OPTIONS menus on the right sidebar, but they can also be accessed from the Tools tab at the top right of any page and the button that looks like a pair of glasses on the top bar next to your name, respectively. I'm personally running Small text with Wide width and both boxes hidden from the right bar. I find that really doesn't look much different from the way it used to.

go to preferences, beta and then you'll find a beta feature that has dark mode in it. its not working rn

Ostensibly it can be accessed by enabling Accessibility for Reading in Preferences → Beta features and then setting Color to Dark on the Appearance tab, but the dark mode is barely dark and hard to look at. It's always been a fairly broken experimental MediaWiki feature, but I especially wouldn't recommend it right now.

I also cannot comment on any pages is there a reason for that?
