I don't want parodies or commercials or whatever, I just want a list of these because they are very interesting.

I know a couple (although they are from the modern day), there is Monster Island a 2019 movie by the asylum, Ape vs. Monster a 2021 movie by the asylum, Ape vs. MechaApe a 2022 also by the asylum (pretty sure that was was more of a transformers rise of the beast cash in attempt thoe.)

It ate Cleveland

Ultraman rides a dragon cuz yes (talkcontribs)

Pretty sure It Ate Cleveland was a parody.

Titanus Kaiju Fan (talkcontribs)

Yeah, but it still counts as a ripoff, right?

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

i said i dont parodies,im also aiming for before 1999

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

probably gonna make a huge chronicle list of these in order, maybe set up a kaijuthon

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

Ive already got Gappa,Galgameth,Reptillicus,Gorgo,Agon,Pulgasari,Yongarry,Guilala and a few others

Ultraman rides a dragon cuz yes (talkcontribs)

The problem with finding godzilla rip offs that were made before 1999 is that it is really difficult to distinguish between cash-in attempts and actual rip offs, which is why i listed modern movies at first.

Also how dare you call Gorgo a rip off.

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

I wouldn't call him a full on ripoff, but I think they are too similar and not tribute.

understandable.

On topic of my last post, do you think the lost japanese king kong films and that hello kitty footage will ever be found?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

It would take a miracle for the Japanese King Kong films to turn up. I highly doubt the Hello Kitty footage from Monster Planet of Godzilla is lost, given its relative recency, but I also doubt that Sanrio will ever let Toho include it on their infrequent releases of the short. More likely (by degrees): someone uploads an old camrip.

MrPenguin (talkcontribs)

Ehhh, Idk about the king Kong one but the hello kitty footage could be in someone's basement hidden away. It would be a miracle to have the Japanese king Kong footage. Probably in TOHO HQ or some random Japanese guy's house.

MrPenguin (talkcontribs)

Well, more lost media are being found, I can expect the hello kitty and Godzilla footage being found in 10 years or so.

MrPenguin (talkcontribs)

Same with Tokyo 1960, it'll be probably be never found sadly.

RunawayMuck Rodent (talkcontribs)

Tokyo 1960 is just a whole 'nother can of worms, look into the other Filipino kaiju stuff first is likely a wiser decision like the giant gecko film vs that, or the 1973 Supergirl film (since so much of that one is slowly popping up online) vs something as dead of a lead as Tokyo 1960

Ultraman rides a dragon cuz yes (talkcontribs)

Oh yeah, Tuko Sa Madra Kaka, that lost filipino movie about a big gecko, There is also Anak Ng Bulkan, a movie about a big bird, and unlike Tuko Sa Madra kaka, you can actually find Anak Ng Bulkan, here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-cBt1S4Ges.

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

If the wicked witch episode was found, im hopeful other stuff will be found.

Do you guys think Tokyo 1960 will ever be found?

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

Its probably destroyed due to the philipines weather conditions. I think there is still a chance

Ultraman rides a dragon cuz yes (talkcontribs)

Considering on how only 30 percent on philipino films end up surviving..... i dont realy think so....

ShodaiMeesmothLarva (talkcontribs)

As a native resident, it isn't because of weather conditions or disasters. It is because the studios that produced them were shut down. A well-known example is Sampaguita Pictures. The films were simply lost because they decided not to re-release them after their initial release.

Tokyo 1960 was not released anywhere else after its initial release, even local sources doesn't mention it, as if it was forgotten through time.

DinoboyProductions (talkcontribs)

Maybe it was the mandela effect or something. Tokyo 1960 is proof parallel universes exist!

ShodaiMeesmothLarva (talkcontribs)

I forgot to mention; the country has archives for films, named National Film Archives of the Philippines. For example, all of films produced by Sampaguita Pictures are stored there. It is possible that Tokyo 1960 was archived and stored there, but no one knows yet because no one has managed to enter there and browse the library. Also, even if it exists, you can't upload or share the full movie online due to copyright reasons.

ShodaiMeesmothLarva (talkcontribs)

It's because everything is not posted online; you can see images of their physical library. The other option is going there physically.

The H-Man (talkcontribs)

Why not send a professional email inquiring if they have any film elements for it? Or, at the very least, if they have any information about it at all. I think that's probably the best lead for anything new on this film at this point.
