Does anyone know what was used for Ghidorah's roar aside from the Showa-Era cackles and reversed Elk screams?

Can someone send me proof that GINO(1998) actually used elephant sounds for his roars?
These elephant sounds that were mixed onto his roars are not ordinary stock elephant sounds, keep that in mind
But which type of elephant sound did they use? (roars? trumpets? growl?)
These are newly original elephant sounds that were recorded in the wild
GINOs growls sound more like a modified walrus grunt.
yeah, I know. That was also mixed onto his roars
When Godzilla got hit by torpedoes, he used a elephant sound at that point.
That's the only elephant sound that i managed to recognize (a slowed down version of that sound was also used for the GMK Godzilla)
yes, true
On the topic of the animal sounds, did you know that the cries of black bear cubs were used for his babies?
Really?
Yup. They took them from the LucasFilm Sound Library. Here are the Sounds: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Sound_Ideas,_BEAR_-_BLACK_BEAR_CUB,_MOANS,_PURRS,_ANIMAL
I also found out that some of his sounds were included in Sound Ideas' „Sony Pictures Sound Effects Libary Volume 6". This could explain why his roars are used so frequently in other media.
where they all clean?
Yes.
Disagreements over whether sounds effects come from prior films have been fairly common on this site, but repeatedly trying to edit a page over objections is not the way to win an argument. I think that generally if there's debate over matching sounds even when all parties have listened to the same clips, we should err on the side of caution and leave the information out of the page.
I also don't think identifying single instances of reused sound effects should be a priority for these sections. Background on the sound design process for each monster would probably be of greater interest to our readers. I imagine that information exists somewhere for Clover - interviews with the sound team would be the place to start, perhaps the film's special features too.
i hope im not bothering adding to this but i want to give some context.
the main issue was he was insisting that clover reused sounds from the giant gingerbread man from Shrek 2 and gave "evidence" for it but the evidence he gave sounded nothing remotely in common with any noise clover made i myself checked by slowing it down and speeding it up
it still sounded nothing alike.
I'm aware.
Seeing his last edit on MV Kongs page I dont think he listened at all.
Okay,so here is the YouTube video from which the roar originated: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3D8cqgHljxKho&ved=2ahUKEwjAnuObtc30AhVTQvEDHZqABN4QwqsBegQIAxAF&usg=AOvVaw16VzA_cDtgz6Lqnd158iCX And here is the Kong roar: https://wikizilla.org/w/images/8/8c/Kong2021.wav
Here is the same Elephant roar pitched-up
And here is the Kong Roar slowed down: https://wikizilla.org/w/images/6/65/Roar_48.ogg

You totally missed the point or willfully ignored what the admin was trying to say.
A random YT video Is irrelevant and franky its getting absurd to list literal every specific detail to the point its cluttered which we dont want
Frankly i and im pretty sure others are becoming very annoyed over this.
I am far more annoyed by the ridiculous intensity of these topics. We're talking about monster sound effects, not Roe v. Wade. Your rhetoric's overheated; cut it out.
I don't think the audio clips here are completely conclusive, but if Erik Aadahl said in an interview that he modified elephant sounds for some of Kong's roars, that would be the exact sort of information I said I was looking for. What a monster's roar is derived from is not absurd detail. The problem is the difficulty of verifying what it is derived from by ourselves.
But this video from which the roar originated in the first place.
But i will stop trying to be too specific. Now leave me alone.
In the absence of information on the page, you look for something random, like a TV show or movie, and say that this monster roars when it does not. To me, that's childish. Our purpose is to present information, not to be a zoo where animals do not think or hear. Please stop.
Just leave me alone already.
Then stop vandalizing pages by removing citations that are needed and resorting to "Dude trust me" when you cannot provide proof or citations to the things you add.
Would you mind telling us why you do this?
you really should just let the staff handle this.
The only reason i commented reviving this thread was to notify ABB that he removed citations that needed to be added.
I think the claims GameDestroyah2008 made about the sources of Baragon and KK76 roars are specific enough to be investigated. If neither of you did that before reverting the edits/making strange zoo analogies, you're really not helping. But a [citation needed] should almost never be removed if it isn't replaced with a citation.
due to the Mongo thing i simply have a hard time trusting him
i really should have went and checked myself though you are right.
I removed the „citation needed" thing, because i removed the things to which they were referring(King Ghidorah possibly using slowed-down lion bellows for his growls,Vastatosaurus Rex roars being used thrice).
But we need proof that he made V rex sounds
i cant confirm it because i don't want to go back to such an awful film just to find a sound effect
i do recall however one noise he made was apparently taken from a creaking metal door from X2 which Mike also worked on
I wasnt the Person who added that in the first place, but i did find the exact sounds that they used
then can you link the video here?
Here is footage of the V-Rex from the Game: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DGtZHOBLZUEU&ved=2ahUKEwjd2t2imdr0AhVtQfEDHcM0AgsQo7QBegQIDBAE&usg=AOvVaw2BBRHhte25jKF8w1SwFSbj
The Offscreen-roar that the V-Rex makes at 0:50 of the footage is part of the growl one of the heads makes after awakening from his icy prison: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zlli6kEEBM0 Its at the 2:13 mark
The roar the V-Rex makes at 0:55 while destroying the bridge, is part of the roar Ghidorah makes at the 2:20 mark of the video that i linked above
They dont sound anything alike
And the roar it makes at 1:01 is the same roar that Ghidorah makes after he is hit by Godzillas Atomic Breath in Boston: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v9EuGdwn_d4 Its at the 2:06 mark
OK yeah i hear the falling over sound is absolutely the same sound
we should probably specify its when he gets knocked over by godzillas beam.
I agree through that i took it too far with the entire clover/mongo thing.
And now he is removing citation needed from pages and added the dino crisis thing back to baragon without citations
i really didnt want this thread to be revived hoping it was over but.
-__-
This must be annoying for ABB and i dont wish for that.
Is the any reason you keep refusing to add Citations with whatever claims you keep making you once again made a claim about a roar being used (This time anime ghidorah) but provided no citation ( proof) at all.
Also please stop raw linking on pages thats not how links are put into pages
once again
that is not how links are added to pages
nor is that how citations are linked
too tired atm to explain
This specifically refers to stock sounds from sound libraries like „The General series 6000" and „The Hollywoodedge Premiere Edition 01"
Why did you make some random topic and said something not directed to anyone only to lock it?
Because no one responded.
Im sorry to any mods that see this but
Stop Adding in False information and or Information with no evidence about monster roars on pages
and posting videos without any timestamps (like in baragons case) isnt proof
@Les
Sorry i should of alerted you first
its just that no one seemed to address this issue and i tried telling him before not too
Stop
Adding
False
Information
im Not adding false information, you are Just antagonizing me for little reason. Besides you probably dont even bother to check if im lying or not. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pysmtm7PSPg the original shin Godzilla roar is around the 2:33 mark.
Thats unsourced and doesnt provide proof at all
You also in the past claimed the cloverfield monster invented inhailing sounds so
I simply meant that they might have used this specific inhale, but they could have easily modified so much that its barely recognizable
It sounded nothing alike inhailing isnt a unique concept
To claim they are the same sound despite not sounding remotely similar is a stretch as long as clovers arms.
And considering that they used Sharptooth sounds for the Rodan that battled Jet Jaguar and apperently Rexy sounds for Anguirus and Sharktopus sounds for Salunga
You cant just claim these things without proof.
We have proof for anguirus simply because its recognizable
Frank welker sounds are considered stock sound effects
What Frank Welker sounds are you referring to? The ones used for Obsidius?
No sharptooths noises are frank welkers
But what Sounds do you mean?
I literally said sharptooth was frank welker
The one you claimed rodan was
Anyways here are the Sounds they used for Rodan: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Sound_Ideas,_ANIMAL,_CREATURE_-_LARGE_ANIMAL_GROWL_03 This one is part of the roar Rodan makes after inspecting Yun and the Child. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O1RF3BAD2sI Its at the 0:12 mark and ends at 0:14 Its has a lower pitch
The other one is: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Sound_Ideas,_ANIMAL,_CREATURE_-_LARGE_ANIMAL_GROWL_02 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O1RF3BAD2sI its at the 1:27 mark and ends at 1:29.It lacks the second snarl. Outside of that, its completely unchanged.
They also used this classic Universal Stock Roar thats mostly associated with N64-Era Bowser: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Sound_Ideas,_MONSTER_-_ROAR,_ANIMAL_05 https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/Sound_Ideas,_MONSTER_-_HISSING_ROAR,_ANIMAL_02 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O1RF3BAD2sI Its at the 0:10 mark.
Thanks. I definitely hear the old Universal roar, but not the others.
The first one was lowered in pitch. Regarding the Second one:you need to listen very, very closely. Its very faint and obstructed by the loud music and Goro ranting.
Please start using the timestamp link option instead of listing where
Timestamps are all provided above - I didn't have a problem finding where they're supposed to be, I just didn't hear matching roars.
I do hear the "Bowser" sound its mixed in with the other sound however
once im on PC i will get the exact moment where i hear it and will compare the two
Is there a way to upload files into chat logs like this?
|roar =
Here is the first one as it appears in Singular Point
The code used on our pages works the same way here.
I ment like direct timestamp links.
That doesn't seem necessary.
Another question: How do you post downloadable files in threads?I only know how to link Websites.
Stock sound effects are the absolute worst to write about because it's so hard to determine where they originally came from, but a phrase like "This sound effect/roar was also used by [character] in [film]" can be helpful.
The Millenium Godzillas, especially KiryuGoji, are probably the worst when it comes to stock noises.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mcP2pzRd140 The sound used for Shin Godzillas smoke breath is the same sound effect used for the Heisei Godzilla's atomic breath in Godzilla vs Mothra when he is underwater while fighting battra larva
You outright removed the fact his beam used destoroyah sound effects
The Sound for Shin Godzillas purple beam is reused from the Heisei Godzillas atomic breath from Godzilla vs Mothra, specifically when he shoots Battra with it after biting him in the Neck before Mothra and Battra carry him to the Sea.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UJWewVW4Ih4
It sounds similar but im not sure if its exact
Destoroyahs beam sounds much closer
i also found this video here some Time ago
The uploader states in the comments which sounds were used, but i dont know if he is right or not
You should be verifying that information on your own - and when making claims, the easiest way for others to check your work is to provide timestamps for sound effects in the movies themselves. In my experience, listening to roar compilations is mind-numbing.
I agree that Destoroyah's ray sounds more like the atomic breath sound effect in Shin Godzilla (although it's possible that the Destoroyah effect was derived from the Godzilla vs. Mothra atomic breath sound effect, or made in a similar fashion).
When Godzilla initially releases his breath isnt it another beam sound effect that previous Godzillas made?
Im talking about when it first ignites
Yes, although I didn't realize that was in dispute.
I forgot which one it was
Was it Heisei?
It wasnt in dispute it was never on the page infact
A very similar sound is ocassionaly used in Godzilla vs Mothra, like the Underwater battle between Godzilla and Battra Larva
I took "while his thermal flame attack utilizes the Showa Godzilla's atomic breath sound effect" to be the same thing you were talking about.
I'm pretty much the worst person to ask - sound effect identification is very frustrating for me unless it's super obvious.
While on this topic i been meaning to say one of the roars the alien in cloverfield lane is indeed a slightly altered clover sound
Ive just been forgeting to mention it.
Timestamps?
https://wikizilla.org/wiki/Topic:Wcly59jrhvxkb8en
Heres the thread i replied too where i compared both
I posted about it on an old thread but i found it through a toku society
Video that compiled the clover franchise sounds
I cant timestamp the clips atm due to my mouse on my PC being busted and idk if mobile works but i will find the thread
I also checked and the alien ship does emit it but i dont recall when.
One of the Clovers roars is actually derived from this stock roar: https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki/SKYWALKER,_ROAR_-_MONGO_SCREAM
i listened to toku societys roar videos
Nothing in there sounds like that
This is also unrelated to what i was talking about here.
For comparison here is a pitched up version of the clover roar https://wikizilla.org/w/images/d/dd/Cloverfield_Monster_2.mp3
That just links to the front page
https://wikizilla.org/w/images/d/dd/Cloverfield_Monster_2.mp3 Here is a link that functions
The start of both of them sounds similar but the rest of both sounds are different so its hard to say for certain and 100 percent confidence its the same
I forgot to mention that Shrek 2 uses a modified version of the stock roar and it sounds closer to the Clover Sound
This doesnt really sound anything like Clover.
Why was this added to the page?
They sound remotely nothing alike at all.
Not sure if thats relevant
But i checked the page and it mentions ot was used for KOTM Rodan as well?
The pages for the 98 film and Kotm also claim that the inhale sound from Kirby is used
No our pages dont? ? ?
But if you mean this sound effect wiki
Im not sure if its this reliable
And i think pointing out every single use of a sound is a bit overly extensive
Yup,im referring to that one
i..what?
I dont understand what you are reffering too? ? ?
Im reffering to The Sound effect wiki
Im pretty good at it so i should check myself
I think the only reliable roar compilation maker is Bumuman. He doesn't just rip 3 or 4 sound effects from random cds and repeats them for 3 minutes like most people do with Ebirahs sounds, he includes every sound that the monster ever.He even recreates some of them on his own.And if It doesnt have every Sound,he releases extra roar packs that include them.
Recreations are not what we seek and are not reliable
Yeah, uploaders mixing in their own inventions are another reason I don't really like roar compilations as proof.
in regards to Gamedestoryahs latest edit
listing every example of a certain sound effect being used is Unnecessarily extensive .
You said that on the edit, yes; no need to repeat it here. I agree, though that was far from a comprehensive list.
Now theres a dispute over 4th form Shins current roar saying he never does them
Again
We need Proof please
Im reffering to the Audiofile on the Side.Shin Godzilla never used an Echoey version of these Roars.
its still the same roar though??
Shin does use the First one,but it doesn't have that echo effect.
I dont see an issue then if it has an echo
That feels very nitpicky.
It's not. The roars on the pages should sound exactly the way they do in the movies/shows.
The two of you need to take a break from arguing about sound effects for a bit.
I wasnt trying to argue
OH if thats the case then clovers should be changed he never does that really long roar in the movie itself that was only in promo material.
Also i cant get the Exact sound singular point manda makes because audacity isnt that good at removing excess noises and every time it does the kong/ceaser sound there always excess noise
It won't always be possible to get a clean roar.
If i recall someone was able to isolate the titan sounds from Kotm using sony vegas somehow it was also toku i think
is there any other programs that can be useful for such that doesnt cost $$$
Because audacity simply isnt that good for it
No idea, sorry.
I got a new mouse so i should be able to show the clover/alien sound comparision soon of you didnt see that thread i posted here yet.
Along with the "Bowser" sound SP rodan makes.
Just saying something without providing any evidence isnt proof.
Where was this suposed cloverfield sound you previously mentioned on Godzillas singular point page
Im curious.
Because i dont recall such a noise at all
You can hear a distorted version of it faintly(the Sound effect is the inhale the gigantic clover makes at the end of the cloverfield parodox before roaring a second time)or at least a very similar sound right before Godzilla amphibia lets out the 1954 godzilla roar
Could you post video clips of both?
Just saying something isnt proof
https://youtu.be/iBLkhrZd0wA from 0:08 to 0:10
https://youtu.be/HyHBaH90P0I 1:25 to 1:28
They dont sound remotely similar at all
And here is a question of my own:When does Godzilla Aquatilis use a King Kong Roar mixed with an altered T-Rex Roar from Jurrasic Park?Send me audio proof please.
Godzillas page doesnt mention jurassic park
Clovers page does where it mentions the JP rex sound
Ignore
Early Versions of Godzilla Ultima's Page and King Kong 62's Page mentioned that Godzilla Aquatilis used King Kongs Roar mixed with an altered Jurrasic Park T-Rex Roar
Those where early for a reason they was edited out because they are incorrect
King Kong 62 Page still mentions that
Thank you for pointing this out i wasn't aware of this
i went and fixed it
