So if Shin Ultraman ends up being a huge hit like Shin Godzilla, would Gamera make a come back through the Shin treatment? the reason why I thought of this is because, Hideaki Anno made Shin Godzilla and the co director Shinji Higuchi from Shin Godzilla is directing Shin Ultraman and I think one of the Music Composers from the Heisei Gamera series made the music to Shin Godzilla which could lead to a Reiwa era installment of Gamera.

Anno's next movie is Shin Kamen Rider. I suppose a Shin Gamera movie is possible, but the whole idea of these Shin movies seems to be bringing classic tokusatsu characters into modern, realistic settings. The last four Gamera movies already did that.
Regarding the Heisei Gamera/Shin Godzilla staff connections - they had different composers (Koh Otani for Gamera, Shiro Sagisu for Godzilla), but Shinji Higuchi and Mahiro Maeda worked on both.
Hideaki Anno was also on-set for Gamera 3. But “x worked on y” is hardly confirmation of anything.
so the Shin series could bring back some iconic cross-overs like Kamen rider vs Ultraman (I think thats what it was called) or Shin Godzilla vs Shin Ultraman ( could be a reference to Jirass vs Ultraman )
I'd say a Shin Godzilla vs Shin Ultraman could ahppen in the form of a 4D ride at Universal.
That seems a lot likelier than a movie.
I doubt it highly.
As cool as a new Gamera would be, I don’t think they have anywhere else good to take the character/franchise that we haven’t already seen before.
it would be cool to see Gamera appearing out of a forest or like a Guardian deity like the GMK, Mothra,Baragon and Ghidorah. but instead of appearing in japan or in the US. maybe appears at the now not populated Easter Island after a swarm of Garasharp wiped out the civalization.
While not necessarily bad ideas on paper, we have seen all of those ideas (Guardian Deity in the hesei trilogy, more remote locations in some of the showa films, Garasharp wiping out populations in the last hope) used for Gamera before. And even while I like the short/trailer/proof of concept we got a few years back, I can’t help but feel like it would’ve been more of the same, even if it visually looked better than most anything we have seen before in the series
