Hi ABB, sorry to bother you yet again but would it be ok if i can make a page on the North American Pulgasari, Galgameth?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Galgameth is the very definition of a borderline film. Its only link to anything else on the site is Pulgasari, itself on the outer limits of what we cover. I'd want to hear more opinions on it.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

The Director of Pulgasari wrote the script for the movie and the film itself is a loose remake of Pulgasari with similar plot beats.

i believe there are quite a number of films on the site that got on here due to certain people who worked on those films alone

so ultimately I see no reason as to why it should be excluded from the site as it should be a page if its basically a remake/retelling/adaption of Pulgasari.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

mistake meant to reply

Enshohma (talkcontribs)

I vote to include Galgameth as it is a loose western remake of Pulgasari with the exact same director working on both films.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

he didn't direct but he did write the script for Galgameth.

Les, The Boy Who Cried Godzilla, and Koopa are onboard too, so that's admin majority (I'll break a theoretical tie since the wind is clearly at this movie's back). So: what do we call the page? The film has three English titles: shown at Cannes as Galgameth, then released in the U.S. as The Legend of Galgameth and The Adventures of Galgameth.

Kaiju No. 14 (talkcontribs)

Wikipedia calls the film Galgameth, but I’ve seen more sources refer to the film as The Adventures of Galgameth.

Zillaman98 (talkcontribs)

I think whichever title chronologically was used first.

Also would Galgameth itself be considered a Pulgasari incarnation due to being basically the same metal eating creature or Seperate????

Les (talkcontribs)

It's a different monster that's inspired by Bulgasari.

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

I do would like to apologize for starting an all out war over this film.

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

What? We approved it, fairly quickly at that.

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

does the monster, Galgameth need its own page as well? and if so, does the form he takes on with the red/orange accents be a form? I know that Pulgasari had the same weird "burning" or rage form in his film?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Yes, Galgameth should get his own page. I haven't seen the movie in a while, so I don't remember what led to him taking that form. If it's the same as Pulgasari where he's just superheated by an enemy attack, then no.

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

interesting, all i do remember is that Galgameth takes place during the Medieval times that, and how the Monster is pretty much defeated by salt water even though being brought to life by the prince's tear? I remember at least that much since it did leave Netflix a few years ago.

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

would Daimajin be a good compared movie + monster to Galgameth and Pulgasari?

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

Sure, although I'm not sure it's really worth noting on their respective pages.

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

due to them being the same premise, Corrupt people taking power, Villages wanting to fight back but dont have the means to take on there armies, until learning that they have a secret weapon, a Kaiju of some-sort that backs them up until the end of the film where they have to figure out a way to get rid of the monster. Daimajin was Kindness, Pulgasari eating the person he ment to protect, Galgameth salt water.

Astounding Beyond Belief (talkcontribs)

It looks like our Pulgasari page already points out the parallels to Daimajin, so sure, go ahead. Now when are you actually going to make the Galgameth pages? :P

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

well, with the Galagameth pages might take me awhile to make since I have, School, work, and a lot of family trips coming up. I might spend tomorrow as a me day since im dealing with horrid stuff right now.

Shin evangelion (talkcontribs)

A sandbox has been made for "The Adventures of Galgameth." I'll try to find some time to look for the full film some where.
