— Gigaman (GigaBash) |
Gigaman (ギガマン Gigaman) is a Kyodai hero that appeared in the 2022 video game GigaBash. Gigaman was humanity's first line of defense against Titans before his sudden retirement in 2012 and subsequent disappearance, although he would reappear eight years later to assist the human mechas Thundatross and R.O.J.A.K.
Name
Gigaman's name follows a similar naming convention to other Kyodai heroes such as Ultraman, Megaloman, and Rainbowman where the word "man" is affixed to another word. Gigaman's name is likely derived from the game's title, GigaBash, which in turn is based on the word "giga", an indicator of enormous size and strength given its characters. "Gaya" is Malay for style, pose, or vogue, fitting his upgraded form's new look, greater powers and more flashy execution of moves.

Design
Being based off of Ultramen, Gigaman follows the same overall design. He has a gray, noseless face like a latex mask, with an inset, smiling mouth (though this has been observed to move in cutscenes, unlike most Ultras). His head has blocky "ears" flanked by golden "sideburns" that lead up to the golden blade-like crests that form the top of his head and protrude to the back, resembling stylized blonde hair. His skin resembles a jumpsuit with a thin, fin-like "ridge" running down his back, and his feet resemble shoes with the word "GIGA" embossed on each sole.
In his prime, as late as 2012, Gigaman had a lithe, athletic form, his smooth skin mostly white with blue accents. He had a strand of zig-zag "hair" hanging from his left side, a greenish-gold visor, a gray plate that wraps around his chest and back, bearing a golden "G" in the center, and golden crystals on the outer edge of each forearm before the wrists.
Following his eight-year retirement and return, Gigaman appeared significantly different, having gone out of shape and thus becoming pudgy (yet is still capable of speed and athleticism). His visor has turned dark blue, his "hair", though still ridged, has become flatter and less prominent, even losing the zig-zag loose strand. His gray torso plate has become a larger, gold-lined cuirass predominantly occupied with blue light, intruded by a gold spike on the lower left to make the light appear to take the vague form of a "G". He also lost the crystals on his forearms, and his hands appear to be like more prominent gloves. Overall, he has now become more blue, with only his face, gloves, and shoes appearing grayish-white. His skin appears more rugged than before, bearing grooves, while his "shoes" have turned gray. In S-Class, his body is toned to a more muscular form, he regains his loose hair strand and wrist crystals, his hair becomes more prominent and blade-like as with his younger self, and he gains a long, flowing, gold-lined sash with blue and white stripes on the back of his left shoulder, forming a half cape of sorts.
As Gaya Gigaman, he resembles an improved version of his S-Class self. Most of his body has returned to being primarily white with blue accents. Many parts of him, like his cheeks and lower jaws, shoulders, abdominal muscles, wrists, waist, kneecaps, and boots, bear elaborate armor in the form of gold and silver plates, cuffs, segments, and trimmings. His cuirass, now glowing more intensely, is overall larger, and extrudes even more past his shoulders. Blue light also shines from other parts of his cuirass, his wrists (which now bear crystals again, albeit enlarged), behind his kneecaps, and parts of his boots. His visor has turned a lighter blue shade, his "hair" has become more prominent and blade like (closer to his young self), and blue-white flames of Giga Energy emanate from his hair (even forming a loose strand on his left side), his wrist crystals, the sides of his shoulders, and the back of his left shoulder, which bears a long, flowing strip serving as a half cape. In S-Class, Gaya Gigaman's light and energy glow more intensely, emanating from more parts of him, and the light construct on his back extends to his other shoulder to form a full cape.
Personality
Gigaman is a charismatic, flamboyant show-off, fighting with flashy, acrobatic but effective moves that attract and please large crowds. This can be seen in his taunts in both forms, though he was unable to properly flex his back, instead cracking it (as seen in the taunt "OOF!"), in his old form, before finally being able to do it once more in his taunt as Gaya Gigaman, "Back in Action!", while another one of his taunts in his new form has him outright aura farm.
Despite his showboating, Gigaman has a more serious side, as he recognizes the importance of allies, shown by his repeated aid of Thundatross, R.O.J.A.K., and the Global Titan Defense Initiative (GTDI). Aware of his influence on Japan's foreign policy, the GTDI wisely chose not to take advantage of the country, only attempting to drain the country of resources and control when he retired, with the organization becoming more cautious of their predatory "protection services" when he unexpectedly returned after a hiatus of eight years.
Gigaman's human host, Sho, suffers guilt and trauma, as his showboating ended up giving Rawa time to self-destruct after being defeated in 2012, blowing up half of Tokyo along with Megumi Otoma, wife of his friend Dr. Kazuo Otoma and mother of Yuuki, the teenage pilot of Thundatross. Ironically, this gave him the willpower to sacrifice his life once a similar situation with Zargorah emerged, to prove himself, save the world, and make amends for his failure years before.
Origins
In ancient times, around two billion years ago, there were two opposing forces, the benevolent entity called "Gaya", and the malevolent "Cosmic Chaos". At some point, the evil entity's essence split apart, its energy forming the Giga Core that led to the rise of the world's Titans. But also part of that Giga Core is a fainter energy signature, that of the force of good that fought the Cosmic Chaos.
In 1970, the first modern Titan crisis occurred in Tokyo, leading to the deaths of many. Several of those orphaned ended up in the Kamikuzu Orphanage (alternatively named the "Kawakuzu Orphanage"). Among them, only a few could afford to enter San'ya High School for education. One of these orphans is a boy named Sho, his surname unknown. At some point, he encountered the avian entity known as Gaya. Details of this first meeting are mostly obscure, but what is known is that Sho called the entity out, deeming him a "chicken" for cowering away rather than helping the world with his power. Spurred by this, Gaya set up a "contract" with Sho, lending him his power in the form of a golden bracelet bearing the letter "G", something that would allow him to transform into a being that could face Titans head-on. With this, Sho emerged as an ally of humanity in the form of "Gigaman", who first made his presence known in 1980 when he sent a Titan flying with a single punch, saving the poverty-stricken San'ya District from destruction. Hailed as a hero, Sho had to balance his secret civilian life with that of his heroic side. One excuse, according to his old teacher Ms. Haruko, is that he is such a big fan of Gigaman, he cannot help but skip class to watch him fight Titans, unaware that it is Sho himself who is involved in these battles. While studying, Sho befriended Kazuo Otoma and Megumi, being a witness of their eventual marriage, Kazuo's establishment of OtomaTEC, and even be involved in some way with (or, at the very least, know of) the development of the "Tactical Reactor-Operated Security System" (T.R.O.S.S.), the company's secret project.
Eventually, the San'ya District prospered, and Tokyo was overtaken by pop culture fanaticism known as "Gigamania", with a movie even being made about the "Rise of Gigaman", despite many having no idea who or what the hero even is (as they are unaware if he is a humanoid Titan, or a human who can become a Titan). In the filming of this movie, a Titan attacked, with Gigaman fending it off, but not before accidentally and unknowingly merging the film's enigmatic lead actor to a building with his beam, leading to a series of "Mysterious Building Cases" that would continue even past his retirement. The Global Titan Defense Initiative (GTDI) would also seek to try and determine his true nature, coming close to concluding that Sho probably knows Gigaman's identity, failing to realize that he and the hero are one and the same. However, given his unknown surname, seemingly nonexistent records, and the fact that the last public memory of him was from his old teacher Ms. Haruko, the organization is unable to pursue any real leads.
In 2012, Rawa invaded Tokyo, coming close to destroying the OtomaTEC Tower, with Gigaman appearing to defend the city. Defeated by the hero, Rawa blew himself up in one last-ditch attempt to secure victory, obliterating half of Tokyo and heavily damaging OtomaTEC Tower. Among the dead was Megumi Otoma, leaving her husband Kazuo without a wife, and their young son Yuuki without a mother. Haunted by his failure and grieving the loss of a lifelong friend, Sho abruptly retired after 32 years of defending Japan, forcing the country to depend on the GTDI's predatory "protection services", leaving them at the mercy of the corrupt organization's control while Kazuo continued to strive to finish Project T.R.O.S.S. to let the country stand on its own once more.
Despite living as a recluse, with nothing but Gigaman merchandise to keep him company, Sho watched the world move on without Gigaman. Writing up a letter for his friend, he admitted that he envied Kazuo, for, in the wake of Gigaman's greatest failure and the death of his wife, the CEO of OtomaTEC continued on and made a new hero in the form of Thundatross, while Sho simply wasted away in guilt, solitude, and obscurity. He also stated that, seeing Yuuki rise up to pilot Thundatross and be Japan's new defender in his stead, he felt his guilt of inaction since the incident replace his guilt of being unable to save lives that day, and thus felt inspired to rise up as Gigaman once more and be worthy of standing alongside the Otomas again one day. Sho ultimately never sent this letter to Kazuo, but he followed through with his resolve and returned from retirement, even though he is now fatter and no longer as vigorous as he once was. With this, the GTDI, who was able to extend their influence into the Japanese government following his absence, expects him to subvert and challenge their questionable policies now that he is back. Even so, some among them are secretly overjoyed to see this great ally of humanity return, regardless of who or what his true nature is.

In search of the Teleporter Module for its ship, Pipijuras landed at the GTDI's base in Tokyo, where it was immediately confronted by Gigaman, who engaged the alien with a kick. Pipijuras gained the upper hand over Gigaman, and the GTDI deployed Thundatross to assist him as Pipijuras closed in on the organization's headquarters. Pipijuras defeated Thundatross and continued its march as both Gigaman and Thundatross regained their strength made a last-ditch attempt to stop the Titan. Pipijuras prevailed and destroyed the building and seized the Teleporter Module, which it connected to its ship's beacon, warping it and a huge chunk of Tokyo to the Yeti Sanctuary in Siberia, leaving Gigaman and Thundatross behind.
Woolley's Misadventures
While attempting to find his way back home, Woolley wandered through a city where Gigaman shoots a rampaging Rawa in the chest. Some time later, Woolley passed through the city again, ignoring the exhausted Gigaman and Rawa.
The Knight in Lightning Armor
In Palekana Port, Thundatross battled against Gorogong when the latter arrived to claim the Luana Island Artifact for himself. While Thundatross stunned Gorogong, Gigaman suddenly appeared, asking of pilot Yuuki Otoma needed a hand. A perplexed Yuuki questioned the Veteran Hero, stating that he remembered him being thinner, while Gigaman said he was back in action. Gigaman insisted they fight Gorogong together, though Yuuki remained apprehensive about sharing the fight. The heroes' combined might bested Gorogong, and while Gigaman turned his attention to inspiring and flexing to the exhausted soldiers, Thundatross retrieved the Artifact and returned to Tokyo, much to Gigaman's confusion.
While Thundatross battled against a Zyva that emerged in Tokyo's Kimura District, Gigaman flipped into battle to assist the mecha. Yuuki demanded to know what Gigaman was doing in Tokyo, to which the hero replied that it was his city as well before he noticed Zyva and again offered to fight it together, though Yuuki grumbled that he could handle it alone. Two more Zyvas appeared, though all three were defeated by Thundatross and Gigaman, the latter encouraging the former throughout the fight. Suddenly, a second Thundatross unit killed one of the Zyvas and revealed itself to be piloted by Dr. Reiner of OtomaTEC, who had taken CEO and Yuuki's father Kazuo Otoma prisoner. Unit-02 retreated into the Hollow Earth before Thundatross could catch it. Distraught, Thundatross dropped to its knees in despair while Gigaman comforted Yuuki, telling him about Hollow Earth and revealing that he knew a shortcut.
Gigaman lead Thundatross to Tarabak Island and told Yuuki the story of how Skorak assassinated the Dragon King Rawa. Yuuki snapped at the hero, still distraught over his father's kidnapping, before Gigaman suddenly disappeared. After briefly searching for Gigaman, Thundatross was attacked by Skorak. Gigaman ran back, having been attacked by Skorak as well, and attacked the snail Titan with Thundatross. Though Skorak was defeated, a surge of Giga Energy allowed the mollusk to assume its S-Class form and attack the heroes once again. Yuuki and Gigaman exchanged banter before attacking Skorak again and forcing the Titan to retreat, but not before it used its Poison Deluge ultimate on the duo. Gigaman took the brunt of it, knocking Thundatross out of the way before Gigaman discovered a sinkhole leading to Hollow Earth. After the Veteran Hero asked if Thundatross could handle the drop, Yuuki told Gigaman to not hurt his knees on the way down and jumped.
Within Hollow Earth, Gigaman and Thundatross discovered a graveyard of Zyvas, killed by Unit-02. Gigaman explained that Zyva was a species of guardian Titans, devoted to defending the Giga Core from hostile Titans seeking its power. Gigaman also revealed that he knew Yuuki's father before stating that it was a story for another time and hurried towards the Giga Core, where Unit-02 was waiting and absorbing the Giga Core's energy. Dr. Reiner monologued, explaining that he would use both Thundatross units to absorb all of the Giga Core's energy and starve every Titan out of existence; Gigaman exclaimed that doing so would risk blowing up the entire planet. Mad with power, Reiner brushed off the prospected losses as the price to pay before announcing he'd take Thundatross by force. Though Thundatross and Gigaman defeated Unit-02, the mecha finished absorbing the energy of the Giga Core. Gigaman dropped to his knees, his power weakened by the Core being drained, leaving Thundatross on its own to fight the now S-Class Unit-02. Eventually, Thundatross was defeated, and Reiner gave Yuuki an ultimatum. Seizing the opportunity, Gigaman instructed Yuuki to open Thundatross's reactor hatch before firing his Giga Beam into it, bestowing Thundatross with his power and allowing it to achieve its own S-Class state. Gigaman collapsed from exhaustion while the two mechas fought but recovered in time to assist Thundatross during its sword clash with Unit-02, kicking the hero's Condensor Sword and allowing it to cut Unit-02 in half.
A few weeks later, Yuuki spoke with his father in their apartment about the incident as well as Yuuki's deceased mother. When Yuuki asked what would happen if he made another mistake, Gigaman appeared in their window, asking if Yuuki was ready to go. Kazuo reassured his son before he departed to join Gigaman in Thundatross.
A Legend Reborn
In 2012, Rawa attacked Tokyo and approached OtomaTEC's headquarters. Gigaman intercepted the Dragon King, much to the delight of nearby reporters. Gigaman swiftly defeated Rawa and began flaunting for the press, oblivious to Rawa rising until the Extinction Dragon used the last of his power to enact "Decimate: Supernova", taking Gigaman by surprise and annihilating half of Tokyo.
By 2020, Gigaman's human form Sho awoke from a nightmare of his power creditor Gaya battling a blazing purple Titan, which Gaya insisted was fate. Sho conversed with Gaya and walked through his apartment, littered with Gigaman and Titan-related merchandise and newspapers, before Thundatross fell into his apartment building and partially destroyed his wall. After Sho briefly berated OtomaTEC, Thundatross returned to battle against the invading Pipijuras. Though Sho was apprehensive about aiding the mecha, Gaya convinced Sho to transform into Gigaman and "do some good." Before Pipijuras could finish off Thundatross, Gigaman dropkicked the alien and defeated it while conversing with Yuuki. After defeating the alien, Gigaman slunk off, insisting that his aid was a one-time thing and clutching his back in pain.
One year later, Gigaman and Thundatross stood in Palekana Port, the latter furious that Gigaman let Gorogong escape while the Veteran Hero insisted that letting Gorogong leave with the Luana Artifact allows both monster and humans to get what they want, unaware that, on Tarabak Island, a newly-revived Rawa has already brought the volcanic ape down to consume his Giga Crystal for power. Yuuki asked Gigaman a few more questions, though before he could answer, a distant roar disturbed two Kongkretes dwelling within the city, enticing them into attacking the heroes. Gigaman and Thundatross fought the Kongkretes individually before the fight forced them back together, allowing them to fight both Titans together. Once the Kongkretes were defeated, OtomaTEC and the GTDI reported that Titans were going berserk all over the world, stretching both entities' forces thin. Gigaman deduced that Rawa was behind the mayhem and was tasked alongside Thundatross to hunt down and stop the Dragon King, while MechaJURAS units were deployed to defend cities in their stead. One unit landed in Palekana Port and greeted the heroes before insisting that it would defend the city. While Gigaman and Thundatross departed, a leonine Titan watched from afar.
While Thundatross and Gigaman tracked down Rawa, Gigaman questioned Gaya about a remark it had made in Palekana Port about an "Ascension" beginning. Gaya explained that Rawa was forcing the other Titans to fight and therefore condensing Giga Energy into the strongest Titans. Gigaman questioned the purpose of it before Thundatross noticed Rawa flying over Yefan City, China, as it was being besieged by an onslaught of Titans. Gigaman and Thundatross broke off from their pursuit to defend against the siege. While fending off a Zyva, a MechaJURAS unit briefly warned of an agile attacker before going offline; the culprit, Balzarr, leaped into the battle and killed the weakened Zyva with its ultimate, incidentally disabling Thundatross as well. Gigaman got between the unresponsive Thundatross and the Balzarr, ready to fight the Demon Star, when R.O.J.A.K.'s Aegis team appeared and assembled, eager to defeat this adversary they have long pursued. Their triumphant entry is diminished by Rex having attached himself backwards, facing Gigaman instead of the threat, thought the Super Aegis reconfigured at once to aid Gigaman against Balzarr, with the old symbol of hope remarking how there are "all kinds of heroes these days", as Thundatross and R.O.J.A.K. have both emerged due to his initial retirement nine years ago. Together, the Super Aegis and the legendary warrior overwhelmed the feline, forcing it to retreat, much to Team R.O.J.A.K.'s dismay. Gaya explained that Balzarr was Rawa's collector, coaxed into attacking the weakened victors of Rawa's battles and absorbing their Giga Energy for itself.
As R.O.J.A.K. celebrated their victory, each team member had differing reactions: Kabuto cautioUsly advised the team to take stock and recover; Tian Long arrogantly blamed Gigaman for slowing them down rather than helping, causing Liberty to demand the ace pilot to show respect for the veteran hero; Crown, being shy, could do nothing but smile in excitement; while Rex was eager to fight Balzarr again. Noticing this, Gigaman sarcastically remarked that the team gets along well, before inviting the Super Aegis to join him and Thundatross, as Balzarr and Rawa were both reported to be heading in the same direction: Siberia.
While the trio headed north, Gaya insisted to Gigaman that he could not avoid confronting Rawa forever; Gigaman retorted that he was not before being beset by memories of his fight in 2012. Gaya recalled how a "snot-nosed kid" had convinced him to lend its power to do the world good despite Gaya's hesitation. When Gigaman proved receptive, Gaya suggested that he needed a snot-nosed kid himself (referring to Yuuki now serving the same purpose that Sho served for Gaya) to give him the drive to do good. Gigaman attempted to speak to Yuuki before R.O.J.A.K. noticed Balzarr within a massive dust storm at the Yeti Sanctuary, the Demon Star having reached its S-Class state, with the remains of slain Zyvas at his feet. The heroes engaged the Titan and eventually triumphed over it. Suddenly, Rawa appeared, also in his S-Class form. Rawa and Balzarr roared at each other before lunging and tearing into one another, quickly enveloping in flames before both Titans fused into one. Gaya told Gigaman that the resulting Titan was their ancient nemesis, now reborn: Zargorah, the Devourer of Stars.
The Cosmic Chaos began absorbing Giga Energy from all over the world, rendering Thundatross and R.O.J.A.K. powerless and even weakening Gigaman before the Veteran Hero got in front his allies and challenged Zargorah, with Yuuki insisting that Gigaman must win. The veteran unfortunately proved no match for the Ascended Titan, leading him to be beaten into the ground and repeatedly impaled in the chest; while Zargorah brutalized the hero, Sho found himself in a watery void with a shattering ceiling, face to face with Gaya. His creditor apologized, stating that even his power was waning against Zargorah's onslaught. Sho asked about the fate of the Earth if Zargorah broke through, to which Gaya stated the planet would be devoured whole, temporarily sating the Cosmic Chaos before he would seek out more. Gaya insisted that they sever their chain, stating that Sho had fulfilled their contract and revealing that it had kept a reserve of power to facilitate Sho and Yuuki to escape Earth while Gaya would personally hold Zargorah back. Sho again experienced flashbacks of people begging for Gigaman to save them and rejected Gaya's proposal, stating that he would not repeat his mistake and remembering the gratitude people had after his many victories. Sho said he was done running away and proclaimed them both as Gigaman. Gaya questioned if he was sure; once Sho confirmed, Gaya dissolved their chain with a smile and shared a fist bump with the man, bestowing him with his reserve of power while the ceiling shattered into Gaya's G emblem.
Zargorah continued piercing Gigaman's body before being thrown back by a burst of light as Gigaman levitated into the sky and transformed into Gaya Gigaman, insisting that he and Zargorah "finish this." Gaya Gigaman exclaimed that he was fighting for the world and everyone he couldn't protect while he engaged Zargorah, with both Apex Titans eventually achieving their S-Class forms. Gaya Gigaman eventually kicked Zargorah into space with a cry of "Giga ...Bash!!!" before almost immediately joining the Devourer of Stars and assailing him before firing him through the Earth's crust into Hollow Earth with a Pulsar Beam. Gaya Gigaman landed in between the rejuvenated Thundatross and R.O.J.A.K. as they peered into the resulting chasm. Suddenly, Gaya exclaimed about the Giga Core immediately before Zargorah burst forth from the sinkhole, having ascended into its Ultimate Form and simultaneously terraforming the surroundings into a violet stony landscape riddled with massive Giga Crystals. Gaya Gigaman urged his allies to flee before engaging in three grueling rounds against the Cosmic Chaos, each fight causing Zargorah to use increasingly more powerful attacks. Gaya Gigaman eventually engaged Zargorah in a beam clash, though neither Titan could prevail until Thundatross and R.O.J.A.K. returned, the latter configured around the former's blade to aid Gaya Gigaman with another beam, resulting in an explosive victory for the heroes.
As he slowly fell to the Earth in defeat, Zargorah rose back up and used the remainder of his strength to blast the Giga Core nested in his own chest in an attempt to take the planet down with him, similar to what Rawa did to Tokyo nine years earlier, but on a larger scale. While Thundatross and R.O.J.A.K. panicked, Gaya Gigaman approached the massive serpent without hesitation or fanfare, enveloping the Cosmic Chaos in a force field to contain the upcoming blast. Looking back, he apologized to Yuuki for failing to save his mother years ago before reassuring him that she would be proud of him and finally thanked the boy for saving him before Zargorah detonated, enveloping the area in a flash of light.
In the aftermath, as the sun shone down upon Siberia, Kazuo stated that, thanks to Sho, the Giga Core had been stabilized and the world was returning to normal, while Yuuki relayed that Zargorah and Gaya Gigaman had both sank beneath the Earth, leaving the fates of Gaya, Sho, Rawa, and Balzarr unknown. Team R.O.J.A.K. lamented Gigaman's disappearance while Yuuki expressed hope that Gigaman would return one day like he had before.
Abilities
Physical abilities
Gigaman's combat strategy relies on his acrobatic skills, allowing him to pull off combo chains of powerful kick and punch techniques like the Barani Kick and Tornado Kick. Even though Gigaman had long been retired and out of shape when he returned to combat, he can easily pull off impressive moves like flips, leaps and mid-air splits. Despite his combat prowess, Gigaman's attacks aren't particularly strong on their own, with the hero relying on combos to deal significant damage. This reduced power is also in-line with his heroic nature, as his attacks deal less damage to non-Titan objects such as buildings.
As Gaya Gigaman, his attacks are noticeably stronger and his body much more athletic, allowing him to pull off moves and stretch his body in ways his old form strained to do. Gaya Gigaman can move so fast that it can be mistaken for teleportation.
Durability
Gigaman endured Rawa's Decimate: Supernova at nearly point-blank range, jumping down a sinkhole leading straight to the Hollow Earth, being slammed into by Skorak's shell, and being repeatedly stabbed in the chest by Zargorah's shoulder tentacles. Gigaman's Giga Punch technique, and its improved variant, the "Eclipse Punch", involves tanking the enemy's strike before counterattacking.
As Gaya Gigaman, he does not actively raise his arms in front of himself to block attacks. Instead, like Ultraman, he stands firmly to endure blows, folding his arms in a confident pose.
Intelligence
Being human, Gigaman demonstrates great intelligence, being able to come up with combat strategy on the fly to quickly take out more powerful Titans and coordinate with various mecha units, most notably Thundatross. Gigaman also retains decades of combat experience.
Flight
In his base form, Gigaman is shown to be capable of flight in cutscenes, certain attack techniques such as Dash Kick, as well as in his ultimate. As Gaya Gigaman, he is now able to hover and strafe when he charges and fires his Pulsar Beam, his ultimate, and a few combo attacks.
Spirit
Due to his bond with Gaya, Gigaman is able to conjure his creditor's Giga Energy, also called Spirit Energy or Titan Spirit, to enhance his attacks. Due to being the entity's chosen host, only Sho can hear Gaya.[4]
Spirit Punches
Though Gigaman can produce many different Spirit attacks, he most often uses Spirit Punches. These vary in size, shape, and strength, and Gigaman is capable of rapidly conjuring many to accompany his own strikes and multiple types simultaneously. Gigaman can charge up larger punches for more power and smaller punches to increase their quantity. Gaya Gigaman expands on this, now being able to attack the enemy with Spirit Punches from multiple directions with his basic attack, Comet Blitz, or with his charged basic attack, Star Blitz, which results in him phasing through the enemy before they are subsequently pummeled from all sides by Spirit Punches, which even punch the enemy in a G-shaped path when enhanced.
Kicks
Gigaman can also channel Giga Energy to his legs for multiple different attacks. In his base form, Gigaman simply enhances his kicks for more damage, though some techniques such as Tornado Kick produce bursts of Giga Energy. As Gaya Gigaman, his kicks produce flaming bursts of Giga Energy, such as his Orbit Kick technique, an improved version of the Tornado Kick. Another attack, Meteor Kick, stamps Gaya's G logo into the ground.
Blueshift
Gaya Gigaman darts forwards so fast he appears to teleport, quickly being followed by a delayed Giga Energy afterimage that quickly follows behind him to deliver a punch, or an uppercut when enhanced.
Enhancement
Once Gigaman reaches half health and remains so, his hands glow, indicating that his attacks are strengthened due to being charged with extra Giga Energy.
Gaya Gigaman can enhance his attacks at will with an explosive burst of energy called Flare, which causes him to glow brightly, enhancing his next move in exchange for a small amount of his health. Gaya Gigaman's enhanced attacks deal more damage and are often flashier than their normal variants, such as attacking more in the same timeframe, producing explosions on contact, producing Gaya's G logo, and attacking from different directions. As with his normal form, Gaya Gigaman gains Aurora, with his moves permanently being enhanced as long as he remains under 10% health and is not healed past this threshold.
Giga Beam
By swinging his arms in a G shape, Gigaman can accumulate energy in front of him to fire a large blue Giga Beam projectile from his glowing chest plate which deals minimal damage to buildings and bounces off of non-Titan objects. Gigaman can charge it in order to increase its damage, bounces, and range. If the Giga Beam collides with another beam attack, it becomes a larger, continuous beam. Gigaman can also blast a larger, shorter version of this beam to uppercut enemies for his Grab Special, and fires an even greater one dubbed a Hyper Giga Beam when using his ultimate, "G for Justice".
Pulsar Beam
As Gaya Gigaman, he now uses Pulsar Beams. When charging up the attack, Gaya Gigaman levitates and can move around, though after a while he can no longer turn. Unlike the Giga Beam, the Pulsar Beam is continuous and no longer bounces off of buildings. When enhanced, it releases an explosion across the path it traveled after a delay. Gaya Gigaman's Meteor Kick also fires multiple Pulsar Beams from the ground when enhanced. He also finishes his ultimate, "Giga Bash", by blasting the enemy back down to Earth with a Pulsar Beam.
In A Legend Reborn Gaya Gigaman's Pulsar Beam was powerful enough to engage in a beam-clash with Zargorah, with neither Apex Titan being able to overpower the other's beam.
Transformation
Gigaman's human form, Sho, can transform into Gigaman via a golden bracelet on his right wrist, embodied with a massive G.
S-Class
After gathering a sufficient amount of Giga Energy, Gigaman and Gaya Gigaman achieve peak power to grow to massive proportions, gaining great power and enhanced abilities. Giga Energy is gathered through dealing damage to other Titans, or gathering it from the surrounding environment.
Gaya Gigaman
Upon being imbued by a reserve of power from Gaya, Gigaman achieves a powerful new form, restoring his body and bestowing him great power.
G is for Justice
Gigaman takes to the skies and fires a Hyper Giga Beam at his enemy from above. If he does not hit any buildings when doing so, civilians cheer.
Giga Bash
As Gaya Gigaman, rather than just shooting the enemy, he first kicks them into outer space, pummeling them with three kicks before finally sending them back down to Earth with a massive Pulsar Beam.
Weaknesses

Gigaman's power originates from the Giga Core, which, according to Fourier analysis, combines two sources, with Zargorah's essence as the dominant source, and Gaya's energy being a much fainter but nevertheless detectable component of it. For this reason, whenever the Giga Core is drained (by Thundatross Unit-02 in A Knight in Lightning Armor, by Zargorah in A Legend Reborn while siphoning power from the entire planet), Gigaman is weakened. However, he was still able to push himself to fight past these limits, and, as Gaya Gigaman, appears to have overcome this problem due to now becoming equal to Zargorah as an Apex Titan.
Due to his guilt over those who died due to Rawa's self-destruction in 2012, Gigaman retired out of shame, filled with guilt and unwillingness to fight the Dragon King even after he decided to return, out of shape, to heroism, no longer as capable as he once was due to the fatigue brought on by his middle-aged body. Eventually, however, he regained full willpower, and even attained an enhanced physique greater than him in his glory days, during the climax of his showdown with Zargorah.

Trivia
- Alongside Skorak, Gigaman is the favorite Titan of Gerald Yong, the game's original lore writer.[5]
- Gigaman is the one of the few characters that appears twice in the playable roster. Other cases, like Rawa (whose skull is used as a shell by Skorak, and forms part of Zargorah) and Balzarr (who forms the other half of Zargorah) may also count, though only Gigaman can be truly considered as having fully appeared as himself in the roster two times.
- The original Ultraman, alongside Ultraman Tiga, would later added to the game on November 8, 2023. In the trailer for the Ultraman DLC, both Ultras come to Gigaman's assistance against Pipijuras, who is backed by one of its own inspirations, Alien Baltan.
- Gigaman is the first original titan in the game that could beam clash, though this ability was only added by Patch 1.35, shortly before the release of the Godzilla: Nemesis DLC. He is followed by Gaya Gigaman and Zargorah, who are developed with the ability already in place.
- Gigaman is the second Titan to feature more than one subspecies, those being Veteran Hero and Rising, in a Story Mode campaign, after Woolley.
