- The sword the main trio discover in “Breakfast fit for a Kong” has certain characteristics that align with the qualities of the swords used by Conquistadors from the Age of Exploration. The gold-tint, the design itself, and the fact that it displayed obvious evidence of aging. The connection puts itself together granted some research into history is done.
- Historically speaking, Conquistadors were mostly from what is modern-day Spain and Portugal. The language they would’ve brought wherever they went was Spanish, the very language that the Island Girl spook to Kong with. The Conquistadors explored and mapped everywhere in the world outside of European knowledge, including the South Pacific Ocean. There are certain routes that you can look up that intercept the area where the Monsterverse Skull Island is located.

"Hispanic" is a Wikipedia page, and there's no indication of it being a sensitive term on Wiktionary. I cannot see the problem with this.

You're once again overanalyzing minute details and running with whatever conclusion you draw from them as if it's unassailable. My understanding is that the absolute most we know about these islanders (from tweets and not even the show itself, mind you) is that the girl had ancestors who spoke Spanish and landed on Skull Island. You have entirely invented the notion that they were from the Iberian Peninsula, they came during the 16th century, and that they were sailing for colonization. What if the girl is only a few generations removed from them? Hell, even if they came 200 years ago that would still be too late to qualify as conquistadors. Or what if we said they did come in the 16th century, but they were from non-peninsular Spain or Andorra or Gibraltar, and therefore not "Iberian"?
You're making a series of extremely specific claims that are very easily dismantled without further evidence beyond, from what I gather: "there's a gold sword".

Should the Locations template include video games? Not just for the inclusion of the general JP / US cities, but also of the occasional place that isn't that.
Also how come no flags? Sorry for bombarding the wiki with them, but Im just curious for the reason.
I think the locations template just kinda sucks in general and needs an update like the vehicles one.
If a large number of changes is required, I recommend ordering the locations in each section by alphabetical order. Organizing these cities and especially landmarks becomes much easier
The flags were, more than anything, a formatting nightmare. I agree that the Locations template needs an overhaul though; sorting by eras leads to a ton of redundancies. Coincidentally, staff have been working on a scope for locations which we should be ready to introduce soon...
Fair, the flags did look horrible on the page itself.
Also re:flags, we already have the template {{Flag}} which is loaded with world flags. An idea I had to make use of them was to create a country infobox that could include the flag in the corner or something, like the trademark icons on the kaiju infobox.

I'm starting to go through the new location pages, and while I think it's great that we're filling in the world, some of them have tense issues and glaring typos that should have been caught before they were promoted from sandboxes. This isn't a race; please don't rush.

Also, while it's fine to derive location summaries from existing story summaries, simply copying them over can result in excessive detail, e.g. the Godzilla Rivals: Mothra Vs. Hedorah section of the Iceland page.
Considering that a lot of articles are being made for the Big 5 (plus Anguirus) for their comic incarnations, do you think it's valid for some other monsters to have separate articles in that same fashion? E.g. Gigan, Hedorah, Manda, Battra, Kumonga, etc. They may not have a decent number in their film / television appearances, but adding the print material versions should result in a decently large number too.
We built into the Scope that only Godzilla, King Kong, Gamera, Mothra, King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Rodan, Anguirus, and Gyaos qualify for incarnation pages. Maybe it would be better to come up with criteria that future monsters can satisfy instead of just declaring the ones we decide, but I do think it could easily get excessive very quick. A page like Kumonga does not strike me as being so lengthy it needs to be split up. Generally comic incarnations do not differ significantly from their movie versions in terms of powers and behavior, and though different artists may reinterpret their designs, they're always recognizable enough that differences need not take more than a few sentences to explain. At the end of the day the pages we make should have some kind of utility, and I feel like having half the Toho pantheon split across a dozen+ pages apiece crosses into being less useful than more.

The Gyaos (Heisei Trilogy) article always refers to them with it/its, not she/her, so I'm not sure what you mean. The TriStar Godzilla is always called he/him in his movie, just a "very unusual he" because of his asexual reproduction. I can't parse what you're asking me about Gamera.

I did a bit of cleanup on it, but I'd say it still needs more work. The Production section is barely intelligible, I'd like to see better sources for that and the various international releases, and the synopsis is much too brief.
Are those the only things that need help Les or are there other reasons behind this thinking?
Yes, if those three things were addressed I think it'd be fine to promote.
- Expand the Plot summary (we try to hit around 1,000 words; currently it's less than 200)
- Expand the Production section with reliable sources (not a blog post)
- Find reliable sources to prove the theatrical release dates & locations
The last one may be the kicker (hardest one to do) but the others I think can be done in June between my work days
Worst case, whatever can't be proven can be removed/hidden. That need not hold it back.

Consider the quotes posted on the talk page. The model used in the show is from GvK, with the only attested changes being better shading on the fur, debris occasionally matted into his fur, and more detail on his fingers. Those are really just technical improvements and not actually changing the design. I'm skeptical, then, that they would take the time to remove a scar off of his chest. That seems a little more major than just a "tweak" and there's not even a lore reason to do so; we don't know where the scar came from or when he got it.
It's not terribly apparent to me that it's missing in the show. It's hard to see even in GvK (I think it's telling that you used a promotional photo where they cranked the contrast) and I think it's possible the light simply hasn't hit it in the right way to make it show up in the brief shots we've seen. The finale airing tonight is expected to have Kong in a major role, so maybe we'll get an answer.
Even if we assume it was removed though, if that's the only change we can point to, it doesn't seem infobox-worthy. Not only is that stupidly minor, but it's not even a change that's illustrated by the photos. The GvK picture we use has his arm covering the scar, and you can't make out fine detail in the proposed Monarch one (or really any shot of him that's been in the show thus far).
