so are we covering this its very much based on Gamera to my little knowledge.

i added it to my (distressingly large) sandbox but i legit don't know anything about its backstory other than it came with toys

i don't know who worked on it or any of the other finer details.

also speaking of gamera im not sure if its me but does Gyaos and Gamera look like they are based on the designs from the 2015 short?

I'd wait on confirmation of that. As for Wanigon vs. Gamaron, yes, it qualifies.

oh alright i hate to ask but i need help with further adding onto it because i have zero idea on who the staff is nor know the exact backstory behind it and im not sure where exactly i could look to find this stuff.

its short enough for me to probably make a plot though.

also idk they seem largely based on it the gyaos from 2015 it even has a curved beak which only the 2015 incarnation had.

Tried to search for the short on google in Japanese but the results where not very helpful and google translate is super unhelpful with trying to get exact staff roles.

but i did get a few names. and Daisuke Sato is one of them, is this the same guy as our guy here?

I'm taking a crack at it through writing the characters on Google Translate/looking for comparable staff roles on Japanese Wikipedia; here's what I have so far.

Actually neverminded i noticed something

User:I ship pegleg pete and myself looks like an alternate account it list almost identical information and mention of this nonexistent pegleg pete character too.

There is also Godzilla12345678910‎, who shares similar info and commenting habits, but that is only an assumtion. Although, the pegleg account contains the same info and the same real first name.

I'd say it's not. If the bot messes up, it could end up just being more, continous work than to watch for someone who doesn't make any attempt to hide themselves.

Barugon's a tricky one. A lot of the production photos from the movie are in black-and-white or pretty blurry. These are the strongest candidates I've found, but in the first he's been bloodied and Gamera would inevitably be in the shot, and the second doesn't reflect the suit's true colors because it was taken on the frozen Osaka set.

The first one would be a lock if not for the helicopter flying in front of him (and it's still a strong contender).

What about a high quality screenshot from the movie itself?

A non-profit posted the film for free on YouTube, so a shot could be obtained from there.

Or Tubi. I don't recall any particular shots in the film that would be good fits, but y'all are welcome to look.

I don't really see anything wrong with a little opening to a list of abilities, especially one as long as MV Mechagodzilla's. We've started doing that for certain monsters' history subsections.

hate to be back but now he keeps trying to lump every radiation related ability under the same section on the monsterverse godzilla page despite no other godzilla incarnations page lumping every radiation related abilities all under the same section.

im sorry btw it kept happening and no one else stepped in i wasnt trying to go back and fourth on it i was just trying to fix it back how it was supposed to be.

Lately, I noticed that the page "Godzilla in popular culture" no longer pertains to just Godzilla. For example, Gamera has numerous entries that do not involve Godzilla, as does Kong.

As an alternative, could the page simply be renamed to "Kaiju in popular culture"? Obviously, the page would still redirect from "Godzilla in popular culture".

Shorter route to debunking the trademark claim: merch of the 1998 Godzilla has called him Godzilla as recently as last year. The version of the film on Tubi also retains the Godzilla copyright info at the end.

The spiral studio post called it Zilla but seemed to be talking about the G98 film when mentioning the Set and Animatronics

They're saying "Zilla" in reference to their model, although I don't think it would be relevant if they did make reference to "the Zilla animatronic" or similar. Toho's not reviewing every social media post by its licensors.

So why exactly did they invoke G98 Iconography with the promo pics of zilla in nyc and his name in the style of the g98 logo?

Ultimately that's a question only the company can answer. Maybe they did their research and knew that the ensuing discourse would raise awareness of the statue. Or Zilla was cheaper to license. Or Toho was being capricious and wouldn't let them call the statue Godzilla, and they pushed it as far as they could. Toho isn't above double standards when it comes to certain incarnations; they wouldn't let NECA make a Hanna-Barbera Godzilla figure, for instance, then let Mondo do it a few years later.

a lot of watermarked images from TK was uploaded to the final wars related galleries.

they also uploaded a bunch of Barubaroi concept art thats not on this site and a bit of these images seemingly don't exist anywhere else so how else can they be obtained

Thanks, I overlooked that. I'll check with GigaBowserG on how TK views it, but generally it's not a good look for us. Sometimes watermarks are unavoidable, but in these recent cases, they're probably just scans from the Godzilla Final Wars Completion book (not sure about Barubaroi though).
