I wasn't sure who to ask about this but there's a major problem right now. The troll/vandal who keeps getting blocked and making alternate accounts (currently named The Original Dog Man) has returned and has somehow become an admin (and made a bot called Dog-Bot). They are using this to their advantage so they can vandalise pages and I don't know what to do as I'm not sure if they can ban me or not.

They didn't actually have any admin powers, just misappropriated some of the templates we use to denote ourselves as admins. I've banned them and wiped everything they did. For the record, we have been IP banning their sockpuppets for some time now, but they've found a way around that.

I do not recommend engaging with this user as a few of you did, beyond reverting any edits they make. They are clearly not here for a coherent conversation.

How exactly have they somehow found a way around that?

They claim they are a child but im not sure if a child would even know how to bypass an entire IP ban that we sure it isn't some weird adult dude pretending to be a kid as his troll persona?

Alternatively if he is a kid is there a way to contact the parents tracked down through the emails to get him off?

These blocks are clearly a Temporary solution and he will only keep coming back i wish for something more permanent.

Okay so basically I should just ignore them and tell someone about the situation in case they come back?

But seriously, this guy is becoming a problem.

The most I can hope is that they just get bored/give up, but that's seeming more unlikely by the day.

They also claim to have a bot called "Dog Bot". Not sure if that should be dealt with too.

"Dog Bot" also got banned but I wouldn't be surprised if they made another bot.

Regular users can't just make bots at will, it's just another lie on their part.

Unfortunately, they have returned once again, now known as "Dog Man (the real one)". They've already started uploading irrelevant images and spamming comments so I'm just going to keep reverting their edits and avoiding conversation with them.

So why haven't the admins possibly tried to reach out to the possible Parent or Guardians normally im opposed to getting real life involved but this has gone on for too long and too far

Can we find out stuff like that trough email or no

We need a more permanent solution this can't keep going on.

I have been meaning to ask this for a while... who was the original account of these "Dogman" accounts and what was the original reason for it being banned?

The original account admitted to being underage. I'm less convinced that's true at this point, but we took it at face value.

Les has been manually blocking the IPs they've been using, but unfortunately they keep making accounts. I agree that emailing them is a logical next step, along with exploring other IP-banning options, whatever they may be. But I'll be honest, this isn't exactly my top priority, even on the site (and I'm juggling plenty more in my real life). This person is a nuisance and not much else.

I doubt one would know how to even bypass an IP ban.

My best guess is he is some Troll persona pretending to be a kid who has a grudge against the site.

Here's my theory, perhaps it's not just one guy, it's multiple people pretending to be the same person, how else would they be able to bypass the IP ban so fast that they can create multiple accounts daily? And if they do have a grudge against us, like Zillaman said, perhaps they are a previously banned user, or a member/members of another wiki? (i.e. Gojipedia?)

I have read several of their comments, they do seem like kids.

that could just be a character thats part of the persona though.

I really think you all are giving this person way too much credit. It's a dumb kid with nothing better to do. I'm sure they just have devices that happen to use dynamic IPs.

So were RunawayMuck Rodent and Kaiju No. 14 the culprits behind all this? I saw something saying that Kaiju No. 14 was doing something with multiple accounts and Rodent was involved with it.

This persistent spammer is unrelated, as far as we're aware. Kaiju No. 14 has been shopping around a "Maguma" persona on multiple Discords and Twitter who pretends to be a Toho employee and divulge various "leaks". Les called him out yesterday and he reacted... poorly.

I'd prefer not to say too much about it, but the two are friends, and he helped stage some of K-14's theatrics. Probably the bigger deal is that he said some nasty things about the mod team, including threatening to kill us. That's a big ol' nope from me.
