Akihiko Hirata (平田昭彦 Hirata Akihiko) was an actor in Toho movies and Japanese TV dramas. One of the most prolific performers in the kaiju genre, his most famous role was Daisuke Serizawa in Godzilla, creator of the Oxygen Destroyer which ultimately kills Godzilla.
