As promised ages ago, below are the rules Wikizilla will tentatively be using to govern what video games receive pages on the site. It is significantly more restrictive that the policy determining what films and series we cover; we felt this was appropriate given that the three franchises this site focuses on are film series first and foremost. In addition, since we were never terribly expansive about the video games we covered, only a handful of existing games will have their pages deleted.
More-or-less like before, we're releasing the rules as they currently stand for community review two weeks before they will be voted on by the mod team. Please read them carefully and offer your unvarnished opinions. Don't hesitate to be specific about what works you think should qualify or not qualify under a particular rule, or if you think the rules themselves are flawed.
Video games must either:
- Be based on a film or series covered by the site, or the Godzilla, Gamera, or King Kong franchises generally. Unlicensed games that meet this condition must demonstrate significant historic importance; they will not be considered for inclusion under the other rules.
- Include characters from the Godzilla, Gamera, or King Kong franchises.
- Include characters from films or series covered by the site in a limited-time collaboration or as downloadable content (DLC). Narrow the coverage of these games to focus on the collaboration or DLC, unless the playable characters in the base game are primarily or entirely giant monsters.
For brevity’s sake, licensed games which fulfill rule 1 by being based on the Godzilla, Gamera, King Kong franchises, or one of the films or series in those franchises, are not listed.
Other video games which have been approved under these conditions include:

Titanollante objected to removing all mention of the unlicensed Godzilla games from the site, so we compromised with a List of unlicensed Godzilla video games page. I think the nature of video games makes that feasible, unlike with films.

Didnt CKC wanted to obtain the Godzilla IP at some point though?

| Not sure; I never followed it that closely. But if they never actually licensed him, it's irrelevant.

| Isnt the Fall of Nemesis supposedly getting a Tv show based on the books?
Posted by Shin evangelion on 8 February 2023 at 16:15. |
| Yes, but it's highly unlikely that we'll cover the show (and the game would have merely been based on the same source material, so it wouldn't qualify even if we do cover the show).

| why are video games not based off of allready existing media or did not a collabiration with allready existing media getting there pages removed?, cuz i am pretty curious

| To expand on the second sentence in my opening post, it wouldn't be feasible for us to cover every kaiju video game with a Godzilla- or King Kong-inspired monster; those are pretty common.

| I think Daikaiju Battle Royal should stay.

| For what reason? It has an impressive roster, but so do many of Toho Kingdom's flash games. If held to similar standards as the fan films we allow, it doesn't measure up - there are no staff connections that I'm aware of and Toho has never acknowledged it.
