Description

"The official novelization of the much-anticipated brand-new Godzilla movie--a rebirth for the major international franchise! Gareth Edwards' Godzilla will be released on May 16, 2014!

"An epic rebirth of Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence."[1]

Differences from the Movie

  • In an extended opening, the USS Nautilus surfaces at Bikini Atoll, its arrival reminding islanders of a sea monster.
  • Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham visit irradiated survivors of the Universal Western Mining collapse.
  • Ford Brody meets Elle and Sam at Travis Air Force Base after returning from his tour of duty. Sam is shy around him at first.
  • Godzilla uses his atomic breath against the male M.U.T.O. during their first battle in Honolulu.
  • It is explicitly stated that the female M.U.T.O.'s EMP field interferes with Godzilla's atomic breath, preventing him from using it against her.
