so what is this page for anyways? welp, it's just a basic ground up build of my Godzilland project. so basically here's the context: i feel like in an alternative universe Godzilland should've still been on TV after 1993. basically, imagine Get Going! Godzilland except not educational, and targeted at an older audience (ages 6 - 12 i think). it also has a lot more characters and a lot more lore, as well as an actual stable set of villians. This anime, is known as "Go! Godzilland" (行け! ゴジランド, Ike! Gojirando). also, i was kinda inspired by the early 1980s anime Sherlock Hound as it is actually Japanese-Italian (it was co-produced with Radio Televisione Italia), so i decided to make this Godzilland anime extension thing be produced by TV Tokyo but coproduced by the Televisió de Catalunya (TV3); its Catalan title is "Godzilla i els seus Amics: Vés Vés Godzilland!". i also forgot to mention it's international title is "Go Go Godzilland!" directly ripped from the Catalan title. The first episode of the show premiered on 6th November 1994 (the same day as the educational OVAs, according to Wikipedia) and most of the pre-pilot work done with the show was done between July - October 1994. The 1st season had 30 episodes and episodes were made once a week every single Sunday and it finished up on July 4th 1995. Season 2 premiered in 2nd June 1995 and had 45 episodes. It was finished on 12th April 1996. on 20th July 1996 Season 3 began and had 35 episodes, and it ended in 22nd March 1997. The last season, Season 4 began in 1st November 1997 and had 32 episodes, but these were released in two segments: the first 16 were released and made until 21st February 1998. The other 16 were released in 24th August - 14th December 1998, when the show finished for good. However, in October 2020, the show was revived (not really invested lore into that yet). so that's basically the ground up lore for this whole thing.

also, here's how to simply describe this thing: if the Showa era and Heisei era both met together and took lots of LSD and crack (lmfao)

and nope. this isn't the official page for the dang thing - just me organizing lore about it.

one last thing: please click on the little square boxes for the notes, they provide some context to things that i don't wanna have to explain fully

Characters

oh yeah, i have some character ideas for this whole thing BTW. here are them right here.

FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST MORE CHARACTERS FOR ME TO ADD - MUST BE A KAIJU CREATED BEFORE 1994 - 98

the guys who aren't villians (and in the case of two kaiju here, aligned with them but NOT villians)

  • Godzilla - the protagonist (what else would he be?) has a really short temper, pretty clumsy and is pretty whiny, but who the hell cares? he is actually pretty nice and cares about his friends, wants to stop evil. his best friend is (obvilously) Anguirus and they both care for each other a lot. he's very strong and brave, but unlike his best friend backs down when he knows he is beaten. he has a lot of friends, too.
  • Anguirus - the big G's best friend for life, he is pretty sensitive tho, and is upset easily. however, like in the movies, he is strong and never gives up. sometimes, he and Godzilla have fights, ranging from very small scraps to straight up repeats of Godzilla Raids Again. he also has awful luck
  • Gojirin - godzilla's girlfriend uh, i mean, LOVE INTEREST. i really don't know what to write for her personality for now, but she's pretty nice and caring. doesn't like getting into battles that much (but will step in if she needs to)
  • Baragon - he's pretty shy and clumsy, but he's a very kind and loveable kaiju who likes playing with his friends. he doesn't really show his feelings that much, but he can be pretty lazy tho. but still tho, HES DA BARAGONE
  • Mothra - always the one stepping in, stopping arguments and fights, is caring and is basically just a big sister. idek if i should also put the Shobijin in GGG, or maybe just leave them as some cameo. also, her parents are dead and she lives with her aunt and uncle, jeez, that's dark... she also has two younger brothers, who are potrayed as larvae. these guys can be QUITE intruding sometimes. one of them evolves into Mothra Leo in Season 4.
  • King Ghidorah - he has three heads and each of them has their own ability of thought and their own personalities. the center head is the main head of him; basically controlling what he says and does in general, the other two heads are the guys always trying to interrupt. always having arguments with himself. he's just a silly and wacky guy. he big fluffy too
  • Rodan - pretty smart guy, easy to make him laugh and whatnot, but he's also pretty clumsy and gets frequently injured because he's not really THAT good at flying (they're all like children after all; some characters aren't tho)
  • Gigan - finally a series in which Gigan is an ally of Godzilla's for once he seems pretty brutal on the outside, i mean he's obsessed with listening to heavy metal and horror movies and he looks vicious af and he loves sharp things like knives and whatnot, but he's actually very cowardly, and is more nicer and kind. also he's finally friends with Godzilla, but he mainly hangs out with his best friend who i'm abt to get to
  • Megalon^ - Gigan's best friend, they do everything together, but he's chill ig, but not very smart at all. he's also a massive coward too
  • Moguera - shy and quiet robot mole thing, doesn't speak (due to lack of vocal cords or any way of making non-machinery sound ig), doesn't have many friends just does a lot of things on his own
  • Gorosaurus^ - annoying whiny nerd and teacher's pet who tells on other people for stupid reasons, is pretty big of a bully too, just a gigantic dickhead. Godzilla's archenemy at school until he decides to redemtpion arc sometime around Season 4.
  • Gabara^ - best friends with Gorosaurus, but why if he's completely different from him? overly violent and likes to bully people too, but he's: very dumb, easy to fool, never does a lick of work, has rancid breath. loves to pick on continuously one of Godzilla's relatives for virtually no reason at all. god knows what happens to him after his best friend stops being idiotic and befriends Godzilla. first appears in Season 2
  • Varan^ - a big nice friendly guy who always is full of love. legit just divides his time into spending time in the water, on land and in the air (ofc, everybody knows he's triphibian), can get lonely some times. first appears in Season 2
  • Minilla^ - in this anime, he's not Godzilla's son, nor his brother. in fact, he's his younger cousin. can be pretty stupid at times (sorry Minilla fans) and is pretty shy and vulnerable. is always bullied by Gabara and they both absolutely despise each other. first appears in Season 2
  • Hedorah^ THIS KAIJU HAS TWO FORMS IN THIS SHOW. THIS SPECIFIC FORM IS KNOWN AS "Hedorah-Yōtai" (ヘドラ幼体/Hedorah Forma Jove) AFTER THE INITIAL STAGE HEDORAH - the kind, friendly slime monster that wants to be friends and care with people... for once. pretty unexpected, but idgaf. her father is the horrible and giant monstrous version of her most commonly seen in movies, but she lives with her mother and grandpa (TOTALLY not Grandpa Hedo i swear not being sarcastic btw). in this form as well as her mom and grandpa, she is actually VERY small, only reaching up to the big G's waistline. first appears in Season 2
  • Meganulon^ - one Meganula (is that the singular term for Meganulon?) in particular is a teacher in Godzilla and his friend's class. she is the stereotypical teacher: very strict, kinda cruel, the students barely know about her life outside of school. at the beginning of the show she favors Gorosaurus as her best student, but slowly overtime she begins to get slightly sick of him starting around mid Season 2.
  • King Caesar^ - the school's grumpy, flea-bitten dog of a principal. his mood can change EXTREMELY quickly, from not caring at all to literally roaring in your face. he is quite a scary figure, but a guardian of some sorts. he even steps into 1 or 2 occasional battles throughout the show, too
  • Shockirus^ - annoying little pests, Monster Island's own equivalent to things such as fleas and mosquitoes.

the bad guys

(now before you guys go "HEY WAIT THE MAIN VILLIAN WAS ONLY CREATED IN 1995, THIS WHOLE THING STARTED BACK IN 1994" when i first realized that this show was a good idea, back in October 2022, i hadn't properly looked into Godzilla lore yet so i made him the main villian anyways. so i came up with this: in the timeline that this whole thing exists, his concept arts are pushed back a year or two in creation and he's given the Mechani-Kong treatement: first used in a cartoon, then put into the movies as an actual kaiju.)

  • Destoroyah^ - the main villian. alr, so basically he's pure evil. sure, sometimes he has feelings, but he's just EVIL. head of the evil kaiju alien thingy whatever organization known as the Akusenas[1], he crashlanded onto Monster Island (where the kaiju live) and began to try and take it over. his base is inside a volcano and he loves concepting of evil plans and engeneering new kaiju. his temper is also EXRTEMELY short. oh and two spoiler alerts: sometime around Season 1 he stole Godzilla's DNA (and used it a fuck ton in Season 2) and... yeah, he dies (or at least, is DEFEATED) at the end of the series.
  • Mechagodzilla - Destoroyah's sidekick and main companion, built by him early in Season 1. he is very cold-hearted, impulsive and extremely violent, but is easily controlled by his master. he is also used in a lot of Destoroyah's plans, mainly involving the other kaiju. earlier one, he used to fool the other kaiju into them believing that he was lonely and wanted friends... as an excuse to kidnap them. when they eventually stopped believing him (which took a few episodes) he just straight up kidnapped them instead of trying to bait them beforehand.
  • Battra^ - the evil uncle of Mothra. apparently, he must've turned towards the dark side and allied with Destoroyah and is PROBABLY the reason why his niece's biological parents are... well, y'know, as dead as King Kong at the end of the 2005 movie of his. like how he wants to obliterate the human race in GvM, he wants to obliterate the other kaiju on this island, more specifically the big G and his gang. (he told Destoroyah about this and he approved)
  • Hedorah^ THIS KAIJU HAS TWO FORMS IN THIS SHOW. THIS SPECIFIC FORM IS KNOWN AS "Hedorah-Kyodaikaki" (ヘドラ巨大化期/Hedorah Forma Gegant) AFTER THE PERFECT STAGE HEDORAH - you know what? this guy would be pretty nice and chill to be around if you took away the following from his atributes in this show: the fact that he is a villian, EXTREMELY f!cked up in the head, scarily intelligent and loves tormenting his enemies in depraved ways (such as suffocating them in sludge). yeah and oh my god this guy absolutely stinks. first appears in Season 2
  • Kumonga^ the giant enemy sp- wait sorry this whole thing is from an era in which Jerma985 wouldn't become famous for another 2 decades. ahem anyways, this big spider thing will probably just attack anything he sees. he's also pretty stupid as well, but even with that in mind he can still be a pretty big threat. first appears in Season 2
  • Biollante^ - she exists in Destoroyah's garden (which he uses for biological purposes) as a guard dog of some sorts, but she can be a pretty big opponment in a few episodes, stepping OUTSIDE of the garden to attack the other heroic kaiju. first appears in Season 2
  • Manda^ this guy is a LOT more like a snake in GGG, just putting that here, altho he is TECHNICALLY still a sea dragon thingy. he is lazy af, only really rising to attack if you provoke him, so don't step on snek. i have no idea what to write for this guy (I HATE WRITER'S BLOCK RAAAHHHH). first appears in Season 3
  • Titanosaurus^ - discovered by Destoroyah and taken to his volcano base, he unwillingly became one of his pawns. he is actually one of the more calmer and timid villians, and doesn't really WANNA be bad, but always ends up doing so anyways. however, he's a strong fighter (of course). first appears in Season 3

^not in the original Godzilland

Lore

yep. this show has lore. a LOT of it, actually. or maybe not, idk i haven't decided yet. all i know is that it has a LOT more than its inspiration. here is the lore itself ig

FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST SOME ELEMENTS OF LORE, I MIGHT ADD IT IN

Season 1 (1994 - 95)

Somewhere near the (unmentioned throughout the entire show) country of Japan, there is a small island known as Monster Island. this island is home to a town, some hills, a range of mountains and a volcano. many kaiju and their species and tribes populate the island. Godzilla, a young kaiju member of the Godzillasaurus tribe is the main focus of this show and he has a few friends. In space, there is an evil alien organization known as the Akusenas, governed by Destoroyah, an extraterrestrial prehistoric crustacean dragon thingy (idfk)[2]. One day, he crashlanded into a volcano on Monster Island, looked around and deemed it plentiful land for colonization, so he decided to make his base in the volcano. While all of this was happening, Godzilla was outside with friends Anguirus, Baragon and Mothra, who stumbled accross him and had a battle with them, deeming victorious. The next day, the three kaiju were in class when Godzilla noticed a new girl had moved into his class: Gojirin, a female member of his tribe. Godzilla gained an attachment to her and attempted to win her over, which somewhat failed, but they did end up becoming close friends. A few days later, Destoroyah made Mechagodzilla, a mech, out of scrap parts from his crashed ship. Mechagodzilla would be his main sidekick from now on. The two went to battle with the kaiju together and were victorious and managed to capture them, but they escaped. The uncle of Mothra, Battra, apparently has a secret deal with Destoroyah and becomes one of his pawns. Meanwhile, Baragon has had a fear of King Ghidorah since a very young age, so the other kaiju get the two to bond together. At one point later in the season, Destoroyah kidnaps Godzilla and extracts his DNA via syringe. At the end of the season, Godzilla and his friends battle Destoroyah, Mechagodzilla and Battra. It is a tough fight, but they remain victorious. WIP

Season 2 (1995 - 96)

Destoroyah comes back and brings new kaiju with him, these being Hedorah, Kumonga and Biollante, and uses these kaiju as pawns to fight Godzilla and his friends - at some points in the season, Godzilla, Anguirus, Baragon and Ghidorah fight Hedorah, Godzilla, Anguirus and Mothra fight Kumonga and Godzilla, Anguirus, Gojirin and Baragon fight Biollante. Biollante in particular is created in one episode by Destoroyah combining Godzilla's extracted DNA with a rose. At the end of the season, Godzilla and his friends face off against Destoroyah and his five allies (and win, because why wouldn't they?).

Season 3 (1996 - 97)

While Destoroyah is scheming about plans near a river, he discovers a peaceful amphibious dinosaur, Titanosaurus. He kidnaps Titanosaurus and forces him to become one of his allies. Meanwhile, his robotic sidekick Mechagodzilla goes on an abducting rampage. Destoroyah also finds Manda, a sea dragon who dwells in a lake in a forest, and turns him into a pawn too. Godzilla and Anguirus both fight Titanosaurus at one point, and later on Manda takes Baragon and holds him captive, and it was up to Godzilla, Anguirus and Gojirin to rescue him. Near the end of the season, Godzilla's little brother, Little[3], was taken by Destoroyah and Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla and his friends had to go and rescue him (they end up succeding ofc).

Season 4 (1997 - 98)

Destoroyah finally puts forward a decent amount of ideas for a good plan to take over the world, and he begins to try and take over the island for good. One day, Gorosaurus runs up to Godzilla on the verge of tears, explaining that he tried to join Destoroyah's villianous alien organization, but failed to, was kidnapped and tormented, and had to be rescued. He apologizes for all of the mean things that he had done to him and his friends and the two reconcile for good. Godzilla and his kaiju friends team up together to try and end Destoroyah, doing anything to stop him and his allies from taking over the island. Destoroyah eventually gives himself a serum that "evolves" him - making him grow to large size and making his abilities extra powerful, and tries to destroy the settlements on the island. However, he is stopped by Godzilla and his kaiju friends, who engage with him in a final battle. The good guys win and Destoroyah is finally defeated, and Godzilla is celebrated around the island.

Miscellaneous stuff

Kaiju height

In Go Go Godzilland, the kaiju's heights are... welp, all over the place. They honestly don't make sense and are very varied, with some kaiju having way different heights than they're supposed to. Here is basically a general concept on how tall the kaiju are.

(AND YES, THE REASON WHY I'M ACTING UNCERTAIN ABOUT ALL OF THESE IS BECAUSE THEY'RE NEVER STATED IN THE SERIES THEMSELVES, BUT THESE ARE JUST MY THOUGHTS ON WHAT I THINK THEY WOULD'VE BEEN)

  • It isn't said how exactly tall the kaiju are in this series. However, it is kinda hinted that they aren't human sized, even though it kinda seems like it (such as perennial plants on the island such as trees appearing very big compared to the other kaiju), but apparently it must've been written somewhere in some GGG timeline-only book (prob something like "The Art of GODZILLAND") that they actually aren't.
  • Lets start with the main protagonist, Godzilla. For starters, he is around 20 meters tall. Out of his main group of friends, he is pretty much the biggest out of all of them - the Godzillasauruses are actually pretty big according to the show after all. However, as we get further into this i really explain how the heights are "all over the place".
  • Anguirus, the best friend of Godzilla, is modelled off his Showa version, who is 60 meters tall (while bipedal) in the Showa series, 10 meters taller than the Showa Godzilla himself. However, the Anguirus in GGG is mostly bipedal, but while bipedal he is around 12.5 meters tall while upright, but around 7 meters tall while quadrupedal. This is perfectly normal, but one thing: Baragon, for some reason, despite being canonically being shorter than both the aformentioned kaiju in the movies, is actually taller than Anguirus, but shorter than Godzilla, at an estimated height of around 17.5 meters. This is the only time in the Godzilla franchise in which he is potrayed like this.
  • Gojirin is potrayed as being slightly smaller (18m?) than Godzilla but taller than Anguirus and Baragon, Mothra is prob like 10 meters tall (but she's flying like most of the time so yea), but what King Ghidorah? welp, he's canonically twice the height of Godzilla in a bunch of series, but... he isn't in this one? he's still a pretty big boy as he's about a quarter of the size of him, being about 30 meters tall.
  • Some kaiju that are either the same size or bigger than the big G are shrunk down a bit. Rodan, the same height as the Showa Godzilla, is actually a bit smaller than Godzilla in this series (at around 17.5 meters, just like Baragon), and the same goes with Gigan, and his best friend Megalon is smaller by 16 feet, at around 17 meters. And for the small, friendly version of Hedorah in Godzilla's class, she only gets up to Godzilla's waist, making her at LEAST 7 meters tall.
  • Gorosaurus is already a smol boi, so it would make sense for him to be about 12 meters tall here. Gabara is canonically taller than Godzilla in the Showa franchise by 8 meters, so the same happens here, but with a smaller difference: he must be around 22.5m - 25m.
  • The Meganulon teacher presumably must be around 16 meters (twice the height of the ones potrayed in their debut film), and King Caesar is actually pretty big compared to the kaiju children; I mean, he's an adult, so he's prob around 27.5 meters, pretty smaller compared to his actual height in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla.
  • Godzilla's relatives: His little brother, Little, is a pretty smol boi indeed at only 5 meters. His cousin, Minilla, is around the same height too. Godzilla's has parents (why wouldn't he), and his parents are pretty big tho: his mom is prob 22m, and his dad 25m.
  • Varan HAS to be potrayed as a big guy, i mean, in his debut film he's the same height as the Showa Godzilla, however, in Destroy All Monsters he's just a tiny little thing at only 10 meters. He retains his same height from the debut film in Godzilla: Unleashed, but that's half the height of the Godzilla in this game. But with all of this added up, in GGG, he just BARELY shorter than Godzilla himself, probably at an overly precise 19 meters.
  • For the main villians: Destoroyah is one big crab derg. He is canonically TWICE the height of Godzilla, making him around 40 meters. His robot sidekick Mechagodzilla is pretty small compared to him at prob around 25m. Battra, being related to the fairly small Mothra, must be around 18 - 22 meters tall. But for the perfect/giant stage, villianous Hedorah? oh my god he is MASSIVE. He is pretty much ginormous compared to the other kaiju in the series, even towering over Dest himself, so he must be around 80 meters, actually bigger than he is in Godzilla vs. Hedorah, but still smaller than the one in Godzilla Final Wars. He isn't be biggest one however as i mentioned earlier, Destoroyah grows to a massive size at the very end of the series, which i think should prob be around 90 - 100 meters.
  • For more of the villians: Kumonga is the same size as the big G himself, nothing in particular. Biollante is already pretty big, at presumably 32.5 meters i think. Manda, when all coiled up, would be at least 30 meters tall, but i think his length in general (when not coiled) would be 90 meters long, and his uncoiled form being around 10 meters tall. Last but not least, Titanosaurus would prob be 25 meters.
  • For the Shockiruses, those little pests would be the smallest guys in the series, being around a foot tall.

  1. from Japanese "Aku Kūkan Senshi" (悪空間戦士) which means "evil space warrior". Written in the original dub of the show as アクセナ, in Catalan they are called the Acusènas.
  2. Only in GGG. When he came to the movies in 1995, he was reworked into being an Oxygen Destroyer-mutated prehistoric crustacean
  3. called "Shojira" (ショジラ) in GGG
