A time after the initial deployment of [[Guyborg|Guyborgs]], a number of them were upgraded into more sophisticated fighters called Fangs. However, even though the Fangs leave Guyborgs obsolete, several were left out of the upgrading process and are used as guards.

The Fangs (ファング,   Fangu) are the next evolution of the Guyborg project overseen by Minour for Crown's "Ultimate Trooper" initiative. They first appeared in the third episode of the 1996 Toho tokusatsu series, Guyferd, entitled "Did You See It? The Ultimate Supertransformation!." The nature of Fangs and how they compare to Guyborgs is never explored, but they are referred to by their creator as either the final product for which the Guyborgs served as a prototype, or as a new creation superseding the Guyborg project, which never left the prototype stage. He also makes reference to them being able to be mass produced, but it is not explained how this is possible, or why it was not the case for the Guyborgs.

"Did You See It? The Ultimate Supertransformation!"

After their creation, Minour displayed the strength of the Fangs for Bicross by sending a squad of five Fangs to battle five martial artists. It only took one Fang to defeat them all. A coalition of them were then sent to capture Go Kazama as he crossed a dam into the countryside. He took them all down singlehandedly, without transforming into his Guyferd form. When their leader, the Mutian Bolguiss was defeated, Crown sent a contingent into the mountains to locate the fighter. They soon encountered a mysterious force field preventing them from going any further. It was then decided that Arclight explosives were to be used to destroy the valley, and draw Guyferd out. Along with Bolguiss, many Fangs carried out the operation the following day, and successfully rigged the dam to blow. During this operation, Bolguiss discovered two intruders, and had some Fangs chain them to a ladder on the outside of the dam, ensuring their demise upon its destruction. As they exited the dam alongside Bolguiss, Kazama appeared again and made quick work of the Fangs. On the other side of the dam, a rescue party arrived to save the captives, and a group of Fangs attacked them. They held up much longer against human combatants, but were ultimately defeated.
