The soundtrack for Godzilla vs. Megaguirus was composed by Michiru Oshima, featuring additional music by Akira Ifukube. The soundtrack was first released in Japan by Victor Entertainment on December 6, 2000, then later received an English-language release through GNP Crescendo Records on September 1, 2001. The two releases differ only in the number of tracks, as the tracks "Tragedy" and "The Revived Ancient Insect" are a single track on the English-language release, while in the Japanese release they are tracks 7 and 8, respectively. Toho also released a more comprehensive edition of the soundtrack titled Godzilla X Megaguirus: Original Soundtrack Plus as part of their three-disc DVD box set for the film.
