The Godzilla Collection is a toy line released by Bandai from 1983 to 1995.

In 1983, when Toho announced the production of The Return of Godzilla, the first Godzilla film since 1975, Bandai began producing its first line of Godzilla figures.

  • The Godzilla Collection is one of few lines to include a figure of Toho's King Kong, due to Toho not actually owning the character. The tag of the King Kong figure in this line credits Turner Entertainment, the owners of the original King Kong film at the time.[1] Turner had previously blocked Toho from producing a remake of King Kong vs. Godzilla titled Godzilla vs. King Kong in the early 1990's.

I hate how the Biollante from this line is overpriced for no reason.

It's annoying how Bandai got lazy and reissued their Godzilla 1992 figure (which looks more like Godzilla 1989) from this line for Godzilla 1993 and Godzilla 1994. It's even more annoying how they rescaled it for the Godzilla Island line, reissued for the Toho Kaiju line, two times for the Movie Monster Series, and once for the Godzilla 50th Anniversary Memorial Box. That makes eight releases of Godzilla 1992. At least Burning Godzilla got a different sculpt.

The other over-released figures of this line are Anguirus, Fire Rodan, Heisei Mechagodzilla, M.O.G.U.E.R.A., SpaceGodzilla, Godzilla Junior and Perfect Destoroyah.

At least they actually released these toys. They announced some other ones a few years back for a different toy range and never ended up releasing them.
