Kamachi is a monster featured in the 2019 web series Godziban, and is the focus of its Attention! Godzilla segments.

The cousin of the Three Godzilla Brothers, Kamachi became lost in Japan after stumbling through a space-time distortion on Monster Island. While there, he kept trying to befriend various humans, though his grotesque appearance usually put them off.

Name

Kamachi was initially known as Kamatte-kun (カマッテくん,   Kamatte-kun), which comes from the Japanese word kamatte (構って), meaning "attention," which appears in the name of his segment of Godziban, Attention! Godzilla (かまって!ゴジラ,   Kamatte Gojira). The name is in reference to Kamata-kun (蒲田くん), the popular nickname for Godzilla's second form in the film Shin Godzilla, upon which Kamatte-kun is based. In Japanese, kamatte-kun (構って君), or kamatte-chan (構ってちゃん), may be used as terms for someone who is an attention-seeker, befitting of the character's role in the series. He was subsequently referred to as "Kamachi" in the show itself. Kamachi is also known as Kamatte Godzilla (かまってゴジラ,   Kamatte Gojira, lit. Attention Godzilla), which comes from the title of his segment.

Design

Kamachi is virtually identical in appearance to Godzilla's second form from Shin Godzilla, all be it much smaller.

Personality

Kamachi constantly seeks attention from people in need he comes across, which appears to be intended to comfort them or give them encouragement.
