G-Force is an American private military force that appears in IDW Publishing's 2024-2025 comic series Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre. The group was founded by Jay Gatsby to stop Godzilla and quickly expanded to include many famous figures such as Sherlock Holmes and Jules Verne.
Name
While speaking with Sherlock Holmes, Jay Gatsby confirmed that the "G" in "G-Force" stood for "Gatsby". Holmes proceeded to refer to the army, perhaps disparagingly, as the "Gatsby-Force".

Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre
After the monster that would come to be called Godzilla destroyed his mansion and seemingly killed his love interest Daisy Buchanan, Jay Gatsby formed his own private army he dubbed "G-Force" to stop the beast. Shortly after the army' formation, Gatsby led a division of tanks in confronting the behemoth in New York City. Godzilla left the city soon after engagement, with Gatsby believing his tanks repelled him. In London, Gatsby met with Sherlock Holmes in hopes that the detective could help authorize G-Force's deployment there, though this was unsuccessful as Godzilla attacked London before G-Force could act. Nevertheless, Gatsby subsequently expanded his army to include Holmes, his associate Dr. Watson, the cyborg Jules Verne who faked his own death, and a man from the future known only as the Time Machinist who knew when and where Godzilla would appear next. Daisy Buchanan, who survived her encounter with Godzilla, also joined alongside her husband Thomas.
G-Force set forth aboard Verne's submarine, the Nautilus, with the intention of ambushing Godzilla with a powerful prototype weapon known as a M.A.S.E.R.. The Time Machinist directed the team to Godzilla's location, though the monster attacked them before they were ready, forcing them to retreat and hide in a network of undersea caverns. Though Godzilla eventually caught up to them, he was repelled by the M.A.S.E.R., which allowed the team to escape. G-Force rendezvoused in Dunkirk, where a massive all-terrain vehicle that Verne called L'Albatros was unveiled upon completion. In a fortified Paris, G-Force engaged Godzilla using various weapons designed by Verne while soldiers armed with flamethrowers directed Godzilla towards the Seine, the waters having been replaced by jellied gasoline. Gatsby and his men set fire to the river, burning Godzilla as he headed towards the Eiffel Tower. Godzilla attacked the tower, which had been rigged with an electric current by a G-Force team led by Franz Reichelt. Though electrocuted, Godzilla survived the assault and withdrew from the city. Verne passed away shortly thereafter.
The Time Machinist reluctantly suggested that G-Force seek out assistance from Count Dracula, who expressed his desire to try controlling the beast rather than trying to defeat it. However, Dracula had ulterior motives, sabotaging the Time Machinist's time machine to take its operator out of the picture and turning Holmes into a vampire under his control before hypnotizing Daisy and bringing her back to Castle Dracula. The remaining G-Force members navigated L'Albatros to Transylvania to rescue her. En route, the vampiric Holmes attacked Dr. Watson before teleporting away. L'Albatros was downed in a war zone soon after, though it was able to convert to boat mode and later land-crawler mode before the machine stalled in a mountain range. There, G-Force was surrounded by a pack of werewolves that had been riled up by Godzilla's presence, though Gatsby, Thomas, Watson, and a squadron of soldiers managed to escape them on motorcycles. In Transylvania, G-Force met with Baron von Frankenstein, who brought along his great-grandfather's creation to assist the group. Proceeding to Castle Dracula, G-Force narrowly avoided Godzilla in the mountains before arriving at their destination. The team split up to search the castle, with Gatsby locating Daisy before the lot were ambushed by vampires. Even with the return of the Time Machinist, the group was overwhelmed by the vampires and Dracula himself, who manipulated the Time Machinist into giving him a powerful artifact capable of increasing the size of individuals which he used on several monsters that held Godzilla at bay outside of the castle. Eventually, the artifact was used on Gatsby himself, who joined the fight of giant monsters while Godzilla killed Dracula. Gatsby then fought Godzilla himself, though the fight ended in a stalemate with the destruction of Castle Dracula.
In the aftermath, Gatsby returned to normal size and the Time Machinist disappeared once again. Despite Godzilla remaining at large, G-Force was effectively disbanded and the surviving members went their separate ways.

Trivia
- While most of the individuals in G-Force are fictional characters, Jules Verne and Franz Reichelt were real people. Interestingly, both of their fictional counterparts are depicted as surviving into the 1920's despite both having passed before then in reality.
- The description of issue #2 indicates that Thomas Edison was recruited for the team, though he only appears in the first issue prior to the group's formation and is not seen again afterwards.
- The cover of the first issue depicts Jay Gatsby piloting a G-Force biplane, though the army does not employ biplanes at any point within the series itself.
