Na Kika is a cephalopod Titan who first appeared in the 2019 novel Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization, and returned in the 2021 Legendary comic Godzilla Dominion.
Na Kika was discovered dormant in the Indian Ocean by Monarch, who built a containment facility around it. Na Kika was awakened by King Ghidorah's call in 2019, and escaped from and destroyed the Monarch outpost. Na Kika was pacified when the Orca was activated in Boston, and like all of the other Titans became peaceful under Godzilla's rule. It was later captured by Russian terrorists in a giant net, but was rescued by Godzilla.
Name
Na Kika is named after an octopus god from the mythology of the Gilbert Islands, a chain of atolls that forms part of the nation of Kiribati. Na Kika is nicknamed Kraken by Monarch, after a legendary sea monster from Scandanavian folklore.
Design
Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization described Na Kika as an octopus-like Titan with "a dense, curving cone-shaped shell" and the ability to change its color. In Godzilla Dominion, Na Kika is a huge multicolored octopus-like creature. Most of its body is blue, with the top sides of the tentacles being a pink color, while its eyes are light blue. A maroon fin hangs on top of its back. Na Kika is notably missing its shell in Dominion, which according to artist Drew Edward Johnson was lost sometime after the King of the Monsters novelization.[1]
Personality
Na Kika is a mostly docile Titan, although under King Ghidorah's command it becomes violent and destroys the Monarch outpost. In Godzilla Dominion, Na Kika is simply seeking rest in the ocean when it was captured.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization
Monarch discovered Na Kika dormant in the Indian Ocean, wrapped around a long-missing, soviet nuclear submarine, and built a containment facility around it. Studying Na Kika, they learned that it had multiple brains and hearts in the body and limbs, it could change the color and pattern of its body at will, and could likely regenerate any part of its body. By 2019, neither Kraken nor the outpost had been given an official name. Na Kika was one of the many Titans who awakened after hearing King Ghidorah's call. It fooled Monarch's containment field into thinking it was dead before launching a surprise attack, sinking the outpost. Na Kika was later pacified when Madison Russell activated the Orca at Fenway Park.
Comics
- Godzilla Dominion (2021)
Godzilla Dominion
While searching for a place to rest in the ocean, Na Kika was poisoned and captured in an electrified net by a destructive group of humans. Sensing its distress, Godzilla arrived to free the Titan from its prison, then proceeded to eliminate the humans who had captured it. Na Kika swam away peacefully.
Abilities
Regeneration
According to Monarch, Na Kika is capable of regenerating any part of its body.
Transforming skin
Much like certain octopus species, Na Kika can change its skin color, texture, and patterns.
Intelligence
Na Kika possesses high intelligence. This played into the escape from Monarch's containment facility, where Na Kika played dead before taking the opportunity to destroy the containment.
Sequential hermaphroditism
In Godzilla vs. Kong: The Official Movie Novelization, the Russian terrorist Proctor states that Na Kika can "change sex as needed and can be both at once." Monarch agents referred to Na Kika as male while it was in containment in Godzilla: King of the Monsters - The Official Movie Novelization, as did Godzilla in Godzilla Dominion.
