— Sam Coleman (Godzilla: King of the Monsters)

Sam Coleman is a Monarch scientist who appears in the 2019 Legendary Pictures Godzilla film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

A gifted technological genius since childhood, Sam grew up in British Columbia, where his father Michael had hoped he would grow up to become a professional hockey player. Instead of playing hockey with his peers, Sam spent his childhood refurbishing and reselling vintage arcade cabinets, and received his bachelor's degree at age 14. By age 15, he had developed his first self-learning computer program. Monarch took notice, and after Sam had turned down several lucrative private sector jobs he was recruited as a computer scientist for the organization. Sam attempted to provide a new standard of transparency to the highly secretive organization by helping to launch Monarch Sciences, a computer network providing public access to Monarch's declassified files. In addition, he was tasked with digitally cataloging all of Monarch's data archives, a task he managed to find thrilling. It was not long before he became Monarch's Director of Technology, overseeing Monarch's vast array of advanced technology and speaking on behalf of Monarch at government meetings.
