History
Showa era
King Ghidorah (Showa)
This incarnation of King Ghidorah was the first to introduce the character's iconic golden, lightning bolt-like Gravity Beams (引力光線 Inryoku Kōsen)[1] he spits from his three mouths, also variably referred to as Lightning Beams (電撃光線 Dengeki Kōsen)[1] or Zero Gravity Beams (無重力光線. Mujūryoku Kōsen)[2] These beams are roughly equal in power to Godzilla's atomic breath, and are capable of causing large-scale explosions when fired at buildings, as well as being strong enough to launch the 10,000-metric-ton larva form of Mothra. Ghidorah's Gravity Beams also knocked the 55,000-metric-ton Zone Fighter to the ground, while also blinding him and forcing him to revert back to his human-sized form. King Ghidorah uses these beams to cover a large radius or strike multiple targets by firing them from each of his mouths. Though King Ghidorah typically alternates blasts between his three heads, he is also able to fire from just one head (as demonstrated in Godzilla vs. Gigan when he turns one of his heads to blast Anguirus, who is attempting to sneak up from behind him) or from all three heads at once (as demonstrated twice in Zone Fighter, with the second attempt being reflected by Zone Fighter's Reflection Barrier).

King Ghidorah (Get Going! Godzilland)
This incarnation of King Ghidorah's gravity beams were only briefly seen and were never used against any objects or other monsters, leaving their properties unknown. While Ghidorah's gravity beams are typically yellow, the Get Going! Godzilland Ghidorah's were red.
King Ghidorah's gravity beams in Get Going! Godzilland
King Ghidorah (Godzilla Island)
In Godzilla Island, King Ghidorah's gravity beams were a powerful ranged attack similar to the gravity beams of other incarnations and caused explosions upon contact with object or enemy monsters. After being empowered by the Nourishing Akamanda Drink Beam, King Ghidorah sent Godzilla flying with a point-blank blast, while his regular gravity beams shot Moguera out of the sky. The gravity beams were very effective weapons during Ghidorah's raids on the G-Guard base.
King Ghidorah (Rebirth of Mothra 3)
This version of King Ghidorah is able to fire gravity beams in his matured, Modern Type form.[5] These were powerful enough to destroy buildings and severely wound Rainbow Mothra. Additionally, King Ghidorah can fire gravity beams from all three heads at once to perform an attack called the Gravity Beam Triple Tornado (引力光線トリプルトルネード, Inryoku Kōsen Toripuru Torunēdo)[5] the first version of the character that is able to do so. This attack was powerful enough to launch Rainbow Mothra a considerable distance.
As Cretaceous King Ghidorah, he lacks the ability to fire gravity beams, instead shooting Fire Balls (火炎弾 from the mouths of his three heads. Kaen Dan)[6]
Millennium era
King Ghidorah (Millennium)
In Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, King Ghidorah initially lacked the ability to use Gravity Beams, instead sending strong electrical currents through his bite, an ability called the Thunder Spark (サンダースパーク. Sandā Supāku)[7] It is only after absorbing Mothra's lifeforce and energy from a piece of the shrine from his burial site that he is able to wield his Gravity Beams (引力光線. Inryoku Kōsen)[7] These were powerful enough to inflict pain on Godzilla.

Monsterverse
King Ghidorah (Monsterverse)

The Monsterverse King Ghidorah fires the traditional trio of electrical energy beams, which for this incarnation take on the form of spiraling electricity independently fired from all three of his heads. They are strong enough to push the 99,634-ton-Godzilla off his feet and over a distance of hundreds of meters. A single split-second point-blank blast of one beam knocked Rodan unconscious[citation needed] and threw him into the sea. A similar earlier blast was enough to cause Godzilla roar in pain and retaliate with his atomic breath, though it struck his gills and left no visible injury. Both humans and Mothra were entirely disintegrated in seconds from direct blasts from all three heads.
Reiwa era
King Ghidorah (anime trilogy)
Though the GODZILLA anime trilogy Ghidorah lacks traditional gravity beams, its individual necks can fire bolts of lightning from them. King Ghidorah also uses gravity manipulation in the form of an ability called Super Gravity (超重力, which had allowed him to devour numerous planets, Chō Jūryoku)[8] and to trap and destroy the Aratrum after he was summoned in GODZILLA: The Planet Eater.

Weaknesses
In Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Godzilla absorbed King Ghidorah's gravity beams and used them to augment his atomic breath.
In the Monsterverse, the Gravity Beams require time to charge in contrast to other depictions, and thus can be interrupted, such as when Ghidorah prepared to kill Madison Russell with them before Godzilla intervened with his own beam weapon, knocking the extraterrestrial dragon down before he could fire.
In P Godzilla vs. Evangelion: G Cell Awakening, Evangelion Unit-01 "G" Awakening's A.T Field was capable of shielding the cyborg from the gravity beams, rendering them useless.

Variations
The King Ghidorah from Rebirth of Mothra 3 fired several pink Antigravity Beams from his wings.
Before Ghidorah could fire his gravity beams, he was able to conduct electricity through his bite in an ability known as Thunder Spark.
In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, King Ghidorah fired many gravity beams from his wings after absorbing Boston's power grid. This bombardment of power and light was strong enough to stun Godzilla and exhaust him to the point of vulnerability where he could not effectively fight back, as well as wipe out most of the military aircraft sent to help Godzilla reclaim his title of alpha.
In the IDW comic Godzilla Rivals: Vs. King Ghidorah, King Ghidorah's gravity beams were amplified by Dr. Ogilvy Hu's Electro-Bomb, their color shifting from gold to blue.
In addition to regular gravity beams, the King Ghidorah who appeared in Fest Godzilla 5: All Monsters Showdown utilized a similar but different ability against Godzilla known as Ghidorah Gravity[citation needed]. Though they resembled differently-colored gravity beams, they had quite different properties: they did not appear to hurt Godzilla, instead lifting him into the air and rendering him immobile until Jet Jaguar interrupted the attack.

In Godzilla, King of the Monsters, King Ghidorah, the first boss of the fourth stage, can fire gravity beams from his middle head. This attack is typically used three times in succession, travelling across the stage towards Godzilla and dealing damage to him if he doesn't block it. However, the attack can be nullified if Godzilla performs a tail-whip as King Ghidorah fires gravity beams.
King Ghidorah is also capable of firing fire balls from the same head which can also be destroyed by a tail-whip or Godzilla's atomic breath.

King Ghidorah (Godzilla: Gangsters & Goliaths)

In Godzilla: Gangsters & Goliaths, King Ghidorah's gravity beams are shown to be golden similar to other incarnations though they are also very bright in color at the center of the beams, appearing almost white. He utilizes them to attack Tokyo twenty years before the main events of the comic, wreaking enormous damage as he destroyed many buildings exclusively using them.

King Ghidorah (Godzilla: Cataclysm)
In Godzilla: Cataclysm, King Ghidorah's gravity beams are white at the center of the beams and orange at the edges, appearing very jagged similar to stereotypical depictions of lightning and often moving erratically around the bodies of giant monsters such as Manda. While they were shown to be similar in strength to Battra's Prism Beams to the point of causing a Beam-Fight, his electrical bite and gravity beams seemed to cause no harm to Godzilla.
Ghidorah and Battra Beam-Fighting
King Ghidorah (Godzilla in Hell)
In issue 2 of Godzilla in Hell, King Ghidorah's gravity beams take on the form of thin yellowish-white beams which appear jagged as they move through the air. They caused visible pain to Godzilla and caused him to topple over - it is unclear whether Godzilla was forced into the whirlpool behind him by these gravity beams or if he chose to enter it so he could retreat from King Ghidorah.
King Ghidorah (Godzilla: Oblivion)
In Godzilla: Oblivion, King Ghidorah's gravity beams are shown to be white in color in the core of the beams though appear a more traditional golden around the edges of the attack. He utilizes them to wreak havoc and destroy various cities across the U.S. such as Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.. A combined blast from all three gravity beams electrocuted Godzilla, though a blast from a single head seemed to merely irritate him.

Mecha-Ghidorah
Mecha-Ghidorah's right head is capable of firing gravity beams from its eye.[9]
Mecha-King Ghidorah
Mecha-King Ghidorah can fire Gravity Beams (引力光線, or Plasma Gravity Beams Inryoku Kōsen) (プラズマ引力光線, from his organic left and right heads, while the mechanical central head fires a triple Laser Beam Purazuma Inryoku Kōsen) (レーザー光線, Rēzā Kōsen)[3]:15 from its Gravity Laser Cannon.[note 1] These triple laser beams shift in color from light bluish-white and light purple to red and green. In Godzilla Island, in which all of Mecha-King Ghidorah's heads are mechanical, he fires the triple laser beam from all three heads. In Godzilla: Domination!, his beams are replaced by fireballs. In Godzilla vs. the Robot Monsters, his organic heads fire red Gravity Beams.
Biollante-King Ghidorah Hybrid
While battling Biollante in space, King Ghidorah fired his gravity beams at the plant kaiju, who absorbed their energy and mutated into a hybrid. More TBA
King Godzilla
King Godzilla is able to use King Ghidorah's Gravity Beams due to his DNA spliced in by Mad Oniyama. King Godzilla uses his two King Ghidorah heads to fire them. He also can combine them with his atomic breath to merge the beams onto one powerful attack.

TBA
Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah
Monster X is capable of firing a near-identical attack from his eyes dubbed Gravity Beam "Destroyed Thunder", rivaling Godzilla's atomic breath in power. When Monster X transforms into Keizer Ghidorah, he can shoot a similar attack from his three mouths dubbed Antigravity Beam "Destroyed Keizer", which together bested Godzilla's atomic breath in a beam-fight. Additionally, these beams possess anti-gravitational properties that give it a telekinetic-like power, which Keizer Ghidorah utilized to scrub Godzilla across the ruins of Tokyo and then drop him from a great height.
In comics such as Godzilla and Godzilla: Rage Across Time, both attacks are just as potent and dangerous. A single Destroyed Keizer beam from Keizer Ghidorah shot Rodan off into the distance in the former, while in the latter, Monster X's Destroyed Thunder was one of the few attacks in the series that effectively inflicted Godzilla with pain.
Monster X's Destroyed Thunder beams collide and lock with Godzilla's atomic breath
Devilish King Ghidorah
The devilish King Ghidorah that Godzilla fought in Hell itself was capable of firing gravity beams. As strong as the devilish Destoroyah's own Micro-Oxygen beam, the two demons' beams matched Godzilla's atomic breath in a two-on-one beam lock. When Godzilla exploited the power of all three monsters' beam attacks, they succeeded in blasting a hole in the wall containing them in the city, which resulted in the devils fading from existence.

Ghidorah Rei
Ghidorah Rei uses Gravity Beams by first summoning golden dragons which head towards her opponent, which turn into gravity beams to strike her enemies. She used them during her fight against Evangelion Unit-02 piloted by Asuka Shikinami Langley.
Dorats
Though the Dorats in Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah lacked gravity beams, the trio in Godziban possessed them. To be elaborated on.
Chibi Ghidorah
Though Chibi Ghidorah has never actually been seen using gravity beams, his left head threatened to use them on Chibi Mechagodzilla in episode 2 of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, where they took the form of yellow electricity hovering outside of his mouth.
Psycho Ranger King Ghidorah
Due to her being infused with King Ghidorah's energy she able to fire his gravity beams.

Trivia
- In Godzilla vs. Megalon, stock footage of King Ghidorah's gravity beams was used to depict Megalon's Beast Killer Laser Beam (殺獣レーザー光線 in multiple scenes of the film. Satsujū Rēzā Kōsen)
- The Power Dragon shares numerous traits with King Ghidorah, including a powerful lightning beam fired from its mouth.
- Noriyoshi Ohrai's advance poster for Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah depicts King Ghidorah with red, blue, and yellow gravity beams, referencing a scrapped concept for the film. The multicolored gravity beams would later be realized with Fest Godzilla 5: All Monsters Showdown's King Ghidorah, though as a different ability known as Ghidorah Gravity[citation needed].
- A scrapped kaiju, Emperor Ghidorah, would have possessed gravity-manipulating gravity beams, preceding Keizer Ghidorah, the Godzilla vs. Evangelion: The Real 4-D Ghidorah, and the Fest Godzilla Ghidorah. However, Emperor Ghidorah was never realized and his concept became SpaceGodzilla.

- Unlike almost every other incarnation of Ghidorah, Desghidorah does not use gravity beams, instead breathing fire. Additionally, Cretaceous King Ghidorah also breathes fireballs, though by the modern day he progressed to having gravity beams. In the Courage the Cowardly Dog episode "Nowhere TV", Le Quack summoned King Ghidorah through a TV to attack Courage; instead of firing gravity beams, Ghidorah breathed fire out of the TV.
- In Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla: Unleashed, Megaguirus can copy other monsters' beams, including King Ghidorah and Mecha-King Ghidorah’s gravity beams.
- The lightning produced by the Monsterverse's King Ghidorah's storms possess similar properties to his gravity beams.
- Unlike Godzilla's atomic breath, most Ghidorahs do not visibly charge their gravity beams. Notable exceptions include the Monsterverse Ghidorah, Chibi Ghidorah, and King Ghidorah's appearances in the Atari-Pipeworks Godzilla video game trilogy and GigaBash.
