The Rodan vary in both size (small, medium, large) and color (bright, dull). The large Rodan can release multiple small Rodan from their bodies before charging forward themselves. Bright Rodan will simply move in a straight line from the top of the screen to the bottom (aside from the large variants, who will move backwards when unleashing their spawn), while dull Rodan will move diagonally towards the space where the player was located when each monster began its charge.

The player starts with two lives (translating to three chances); if they make contact with a parked vehicle, sign post, or certain monsters, they will lose one life and restart the wave as the Gyro Canopy Tandem 2. The motorcycle has no resistances against Rodan, while Harvey and Jet Jaguar are immune to certain types. Harvey will swat away small bright Rodan, while Jet Jaguar can dispatch all small and medium sized Rodan and Hanenga. The game ends when the player loses all their lives, at which point they will be given the option to Tweet their score.

Godzilla Singular Point: Escape!! Radio Wave Monster Rodan! (ゴジラS.P 逃ゲロ!!電波怪獣ラドンダ!,   Gojira Shingyura Pointo Nigero Denpa Kaijū Radon Da) is a Japanese web game tie-in for the 2021 anime series Godzilla Singular Point. An endless runner, it involves the player controlling Yun and Haberu, Harvey, or Jet Jaguar through waves of kaiju and other obstacles. The game was released on April 15, 2021, and taken offline on May 1, though it can still be played through the Wayback Machine.[1][2] It was relaunched and updated on May 27 to include additional monsters and will be playable until June 30.[3]

Gameplay

Waves of Rodan and Kumonga attack the employees of Otaki Factory and their machines as they drive down an endless city street. The player starts by steering Yun and Haberu on their Gyro Canopy Tandem 2. Pill-shaped power-ups will periodically appear, flashing yellow, red, and blue. The player will turn into Harvey if they drive into the pill when it is yellow, Jet Jaguar if it is red, and back into the Gyro Canopy Tandem 2 if it is blue. Points accumulate through continued survival and swatting Rodan; the number of Rodan they evade is also noted. In the updated version, all monsters will count for points and will ad to the evade counter.

In the the updated version, Hanenga, Kumonga, and Anguirus now appear. After wave 10, small flying Hanenga menace the crew of Otaki factory, faster than any adult Rodans. Kumonga appear a wave later, and create lines of web that must be avoided. On wave 12 Anguirus will come from the bottom of the screen, running towards the top of the screen. He will shoot small spikes in a radius which will kill the player if touched.

Trivia

  • In the first version of the game, Jet Jaguar could not kill medium brown Rodan, but this was changed on the games second release.
  • In early screenshots for the updated version, Kumonga's webs were shown to be simple straight, white lines. In the release they are sqiggles and not straight, though they are still white.
