Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is an upcoming kaiju fighting game developed by Pipeworks and published by Atari. A remake of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee (2002), it is the first Godzilla fighting game since the PlayStation 3/4 Godzilla (2014),[a] the first Godzilla game developed by Pipeworks since Godzilla: Smash3 (2014), and the first published by Atari since Godzilla: Unleashed and Unleashed: Double Smash (both 2007). Built on Unreal Engine 5,[1] the game will feature overhauled graphics and the addition of online multiplayer, among other changes. It is planned to release on November 3, 2026, including physically and digitally on the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, and digital-only on PC and Xbox Series X/S.[2]
Gameplay
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is an arena brawler which shares the vast majority of features and "99% mechanical fidelity" with the original game. In addition to a singleplayer campaign mode and local co-op modes, it will introduce brand-new online multiplayer functionality, including matchmaking. Character unlocks have been reworked, no longer being tied to campaign completions but rather an in-game currency, which allows characters to be unlocked in any order. Quality of life improvements have also been made, among them "native support for modern haptics".[2][1]
Appearances
Monsters
The game has been reported to feature "[a]ll 12 creatures from the original version",[3] which included:

- Mechagodzilla 3
- Anguirus
- Gigan

Mechagodzilla 2 sports his design from Terror of Mechagodzilla rather than the original game's Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II design.
Development
The French Dealabs Magazine broke the news on Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered on June 6, 2026, ahead of an official announcement.[4][5] Atari unveiled it with a trailer later that day,[5] and also previewed a demo build of the game at Summer Game Fest (held June 5–8).[3][6] During the event, developers reportedly joked about Atari being the only publisher "brave enough" to release games in the same month as the hotly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.[7]

Trivia
- Despite possessing the Showa Mechagodzilla's design, Mechagodzilla 2 uses Heisei Mechagodzilla roars in the announcement trailer. It is unknown whether this will be kept in the game.
- This game's distinction of being released the same month as a Grand Theft Auto game is shared with the original Destroy All Monsters Melee, which released two weeks before Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
