Arkitius (アーキティウス Ākitiusu) is an unmade squid kaiju from the unmade 1966 Nikkatsu film, Giant Squid Monster Arkitius (大烏賊アーキティウス Ōika Ākitiusu).
Name
Arkitius' name is based on Architeuthis, the genus name for the Giant Squid.

Giant Squid Monster Arkitius
Arkitius was one of four film concepts considered by Nikkatsu as their attempt to enter the 'Kaiju Boom' of the 1960s, which began with Momonra, followed with Giant Monster Gigant, and ended with Reigon: Devil of the Seabed. These four projects were all dropped in favor for the ultimately completed Gappa.
