Godzilla 2 is an unmade film in the Heisei Era.

Production

After release of The Return of Godzilla Toho did an film contest to determine the sequel. One idea had go against an advanced computer creating machines to stop him. Ultimately Godzilla vs. Biollante was favored but Toho liked the idea enough as it was reworked removing Godzilla and related elements into Gunhed.[1][2]

Plot

In the distant future Godzilla goes up against an advance computer creating giant mechanized machines to stop him from smashing it's systems.

Trivia

  • As Gunhed was an reworked version of the film elements and the plot of that could be applied here.
  • An similar idea Godzilla Legend: The Asuka Fortress was proposed as both involved Godzilla going up against an advanced computer and create mechanized machines to stop Godzilla.
