It was based on DeVito ArtWorks' Kong of Skull Island property, rather than the similarly-titled 2017 film Kong: Skull Island. Jonathan Penner and Stacy were announced as writers and executive producers for the series, with Dannie Festa also executive producing.[1] It would have been the first live-action King Kong television show.
Plot
Years after King Kong met his end atop the Empire State Building, a group of explorers becomes stranded on Skull Island and encounters his family.[2]
