*Both Shout! Factory's previous 2012 DVD release of Ultraseven and Mill Creek Entertainment's 2019 Blu-ray release of it are missing the 12th episode (of 49), "From Another Planet with Love", which was banned in Japan (this was because Ultraseven's foe in this episode, Alien Spell, physically resembled the hibakusha (survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II) complete with keloid scars; these people are subject to severe discrimination in Japan and as a result the episode was considered to be in poor taste).

The villainous aliens in this episode, Alien Spell, were labeled as "Hibaku Seijin" ("A-Bomb Survivor Aliens") in some supplementary materials such as books and trading cards, reflecting their origin from a planet devastated by nuclear war. Trivia

 • The DVD release of Godzilla: The Series had all 40 of its episodes in chronological order instead of the original TV broadcast order. It also had two episodes that were originally unaired on TV and appear in it for the first time anywhere.
 • Early releases of the DVD set Pop Culture Bento Box accidentally omitted one of its four films (and also one of its two non-Toho films), The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon.
 • Like Shout! Factory's 2012 DVD release of Ultraseven, Mill Creek Entertainment's 2019 Blu-ray release of the TV series is also missing episode 12, "From Another Planet with Love", which has been under a self-imposed ban by Tsuburaya Productions since 1970. The villainous aliens in this episode, Alien Spell, were labeled as "Hibaku Seijin" ("A-Bomb Survivor Aliens") in some supplementary materials such as books and trading cards, reflecting their origin from a planet devastated by nuclear war. They also possessed keloid scars. Survivors of the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, known as hibakusha, protested against the characters and the episode, leading to its withdrawal. However, it was dubbed into English by both the University of Hawaii and CINAR.
