Super-Nuked Godzilla (超被爆ゴジラ,   Cho-Hibaku Gojira) is an unused kaiju who would have appeared in the unmade 1995 Godzilla film proposal Godzilla vs. Super-Nuked Godzilla.

Name

Super-Nuked Godzilla’s name references his origin, being a Godzillasaurus heavily mutated after nuclear testing.

Design

Super-Nuked Godzilla appears most similar to Godzilla, as the two originate from the same species, Godzillasaurus. Unlike Godzilla, however, Super-Nuked Godzilla has smaller, more pronounced teeth that jut out of his mouth like a crocodile's. Super-Nuked Godzilla’s body is chunky and appears to be melting, possibly due to over-exposure to radiation, as well as being divided into noticeable segments. It is possible that this aspect was the inspiration for Godzilla’s nuclear meltdown in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. Super-Nuked Godzilla appears to have a single row of dorsal plates that start at the back of his head and are curved like shark fins, giving them a similar appearance to the Evolved Godzilla's plates.

Kaoru Kamigiku included a sketch of a skinnier form of Super-Nuked Godzilla in his concept art, though what it would have been used for is unknown.

Overview

Super-Nuked Godzilla was one of the proposals for the antagonist of Godzilla 7 and one of four film proposals submitted by Kaoru Kamigiku. He would have mainly fought Godzilla in Vladivostok.[1]

Super-Nuked Godzilla most likely went unused for the same reason Toho rejected Ghost Godzilla for, being that having Godzilla fight three clones of himself in a row was excessive.
