Four screenplay drafts for Terror of Mechagodzilla were submitted by Yukiko Takayama between July 1 and December 28, 1974.[1]

History

Yukiko Takayama, screenwriter for Terror of Mechagodzilla, originally was given instructions by Toho to write a screenplay for a sequel to their box office hit Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, with the only guideline being that Mechagodzilla needed to be incorporated into the story and no other particular requests; otherwise, she could "write anything [she] liked." She told G-FAN in a spring 2010 interview that originally, in place of Titanosaurus, she had written two tranquil dinosaurs called the "Titans," named after the mythical Greek monsters, who would fight Godzilla after becoming very hostile when their necks wreathed.

Plot

Godzilla fights Mechagodzilla and two normally-peaceful dinosaurs called the "Titans," who turn hostile when their necks become entangled.
