Giant Monsters Converge on Okinawa! Showdown in Zanpamisaki (大怪獣沖縄に集合！ 残波岬の大決斗 Daikaijū Okinawa ni Shūgō! Zanpamisaki no Daikettō) is an unmade 1973 Godzilla film.[1]
History
Giant Monsters Converge on Okinawa! Showdown in Zanpamisaki was a concept written by Shinichi Sekizawa and Jun Fukuda in the spring of 1973. That winter, a new draft would be written entitled Showdown in Zanpamisaki: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla by Sekizawa and Masami Fukushima. This new script would replace Garugan with Mechagodzilla, Mothra with a new monster, King Balgan, and add Gigan to the story.[1]
Shortly after conception, these proposed films were reworked into Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, with King Balgan being the basis for King Caesar and Gigan being removed entirely. The Garuga Aliens would also later be reworked into the "R Aliens" by the next script,[1] who, in-turn, were retooled to become the Black Hole Planet 3 Aliens.
Plot
