Trivia

  • This is the only time when the official Godzilla media to be officially promoted by fans. In this case, Gormaru Island.
  • This game marks the first time when Godzilla comes as a part of DLC, not limited time event.
  • The initial release date for the DLC, December 9th, coincides with the release day of Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, with DLC having Burning Godzilla (Though part of Godzilla's S-Class form) and Destoroyah from the film itself.
  • When Kiryu enters his S-Class form or uses his ultimate move, an outline of the Original 1954 Godzilla can be briefly seen.
  • The Godzilla DLC was released one day early in the States due to the fact Passion Republic Studios originates from an Asian timezone, making the Godzilla DLC release when it was December 7th in the Japanese timezone.
  • Gigan's block special teleports him behind the enemy, an ability previously seen in Atari and Pipeworks games, specifically Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee and its sequel.
    • One of the Gigan's taunts completely recreates the intro animation from the aforementioned games, as well as the PlayStation 2 version of Godzilla Unleashed
  • One of Rawa's taunts is a reference to Godzilla's Victory dance in Invasion of Astro-Monster.
    • When Godzilla was added, one of his taunts would have him perform the same dance. It was revealed that this was motion captured, while Rawa's taunt wasn't due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5]
  • Destoroyah's biography erroneously calls Godzilla Junior as "Babygodzilla", which is a nickname given to him in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, but never referred by it in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah.
  • Gigan is given nostrils despite the original Showa design lacking any visible nostrils.
