Kabushiki Gaisha Tōhō Eiga) (株式会社東宝スタジオサービス to form TOHO Studios on December 1, Kabushiki Gaisha Tōhō Sutajio Sābisu)2020. All of the Japanese Godzilla films released from 1984 onward were produced by Toho Pictures, with its parent company Toho only providing distribution. The company was also responsible for a number of Toho's other horror and special effects offerings, some of which were co-produced with another of its subsidiaries, Toho Eizo. In 2016, Toho Pictures produced the first live action Japanese Godzilla film in over a decade—Shin Godzilla—alongside Cine Bazar, with financing handled by Toho itself. The renamed TOHO Studios reunited with Cine Bazar for Shin Ultraman in 2022, and also produced 2023's Godzilla Minus One with ROBOT.
