The gameplay consists of the main character, Hayami, navigating a 3-D maze and fighting Mutians and Guyborgs in "Card Battle" segments. At the beginning of each battle, the player and computer compete via rapid button presses to fill a bar first and determine which of them will be granted a stat boost. Both players have five attribute stats: Health, Attack, Defense, Speed, and Evasiveness. After this, both parties will attack either a regular attack or a heavy attack. The player has the chance to obtain Arclight explosives and use them against enemies to inflict massive damage. Enemy reactions are decided with a set reaction for each sequential action that differs based on the enemy.
As the player advances the story by navigating the mazes, they will encounter chests with stat upgrades that will increase the aforementioned stats, with the exception of evasiveness, which remains at its starting value.

Gameplay
