The Giant Buddha Statue's Travel Through the Country (大佛廻國,   Daibutsu Kaikoku) is a lost 1934 kaiju film produced by Daibutsu Eiga Seisaku-jo[1].

Plot

A giant 33 meter-tall Buddha statue comes to life and goes on a nation-wide tour to save the people. After visiting some tourist spots in the Chūkyō region, the Buddha statue flies away to Tokyo in the clouds.

Some scenes reported to have existed are of the statue striding over a train, resting his head on a 3-story building, and making geisha girls dance on his palm.

History

The film was originally planned as having multiple sequels but they were never made.

It had a limited release and is now considered lost, most likely as a result of the Great Kanto Earthquake, or damage caused by the allied forces in World War II.
