Ramayana (ラーマーヤナ is a Rāmāyana)Japanese tokusatsu short film produced by Toho during the early 1940s, based on the Hindu legend of the same name. Extremely little is known of the short, due in part to its lack of opening or ending credits; however, it is believed to have been written by Kohan Kawauchi, who would later create Japan's first television superhero series Moonlight Mask, among numerous other works. Its special effects are also rumored to have been directed by Eiji Tsuburaya. The film surfaced online after being broadcasted on the Japanese specialty channel NECO on August 21, 2003.
